I have everything set up right and working but with one exception, each time I plug in the rca cable to the subwoofer output on the avh-120bt sound from that side wont work. If I plug it in on the front rca output on the radio my subwoofer will work. Any tips on how to get it working?

Please be more specific with your question: The Pioneer AVH-120BT has 2 sets of RCA outputs for operating external amplifiers. They can be setup as front and rear outputs or front and subwoofer outputs. RCA outputs are set up as pairs. Red for the right and white for the left. Are you using the receiver's built in amplifier to operate your speakers? Are they wired directly or through the vehicle's wiring system? Or are you using an external amplifier to power the speakers? Two speakers or 4 speakers? Does your subwoofer amplifier have RCA or Speaker Level inputs? Does the subwoofer have power from the battery? I just installed this unit in my 02 Ford Mustang GT, I did add door speakers and tweets, I did keep the Mach 460 amps in the back and everything sounds great. Problem I am having is that after 5 to 10 minutes, the volume lowers by itself until I get no volume at all. Have you heard of this before?

This is not normal operation for a Pioneer receiver. I recommend to press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-110BT on the front panel, just below the USB port. Are you using a steering wheel control adapter in this installation? If so , the steering wheel control adapter may be programmed incorrectly and causing the volume to lower by itself. Is it possible to use the high level outputs for the 4 speakers while using the preamp out only for the subwoofer?
@deckerdotto6035
@deckerdotto6035 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can use all 4 speaker outputs and the RCA outputs running to an external amplifier for a subwoofer at the same time. The product is designed to reliably operate with the speaker outputs and RCA outputs operating at the same time. No worries. Depending upon your amplifier and subwoofer, you may want to run the RCA outputs as subwoofer with a crossover, or if possible to use a subwoofer crossover that may be built into the amplifier. @deckerdotto6035

RCA outputs, are low level outputs designed to be used with an external amplifier. The RCA outputs send the low level signal to the external amplifier and then the amplifier does what is designed to do. It amplifies the low level signal into a signal that can push speakers. You then can hear the sound from the speakers. The RCA outputs are not designed to connect directly to speakers of any kind. The Pioneer AVH-110BT has a built in amplifier designed for operating 4 speakers in your vehicle. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer system in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8h2Ztir38e4Y2Q.html If you are looking to add a subwoofer to your system there are many options both big and small to get good sound. The easiest way to get started with a subwoofer is a self-powered subwoofer. This is a product that has an amplifier and a subwoofer combined together in one product. There are a few different ways to solve this issue. The best answer depends upon the best solution for you in your vehicle. I recommend to get a 5 channel amplifier such as the Pioneer GM-D9705 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html With a 5 channel amp, you can run the front / rear / and subwoofer with on amplifier. With the Pioneer GM-D9705 you can run the Full Range Front and Rear RCA outputs from the in-dash receiver directly to the amplifier. The amplifier will pass this signal to the subwoofer output of the amplifier. In a setup like this, I recommend to use the crossovers on the amplifier. A 2nd way to set this up is with an amplifier that has an RCA output like the Pioneer GM-D8704 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5OGlbhzpq3bcX0.html You can run the front and rear RCA's from the receiver to this amp, and then RCA output from this amp to a subwoofer amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D8701 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7uhZZh41NWUo4k.html or to a self amplified subwoofer like the Pioneer TS-WX1220AH seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iKySbLSh2Z-zkqM.html A third way to set up a system like this is to use the in-dash receiver's internal amplifier. For example: Your front speakers and your subwoofer are run from an external amplifier, and the rear speakers are run from the receiver's internal amplifier. All of these solutions will work if properly set up.

Great video! Question....my steering wheel controls stopped working. How can I fix on the AVH 110BT?
@pioneerelectronics
@pioneerelectronics 3 жыл бұрын
Please clarify your question. Do you mean the vehicle's steering wheel controls worked with the original car stereo, before you installed the Pioneer AVH-110BT, and now the steering wheel controls don't work with the new receiver? If so, The Pioneer AVH-110BT requires a 3rd party adapter to operate the in-dash receiver through the vehicle's steering wheel controls. Many are available. Here is one possibility: www.metraonline.com/part/AXSWC You can see where the steering wheel control adapter plugs into the receiver in this Pioneer unboxing video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qcCih5dmnpqxk4U.html Or, do you mean the Pioneer AVH-110BT was installed and working with the vehicle's steering wheel controls and it has since stopped working. If that's the case, I recommend to press the receiver's microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-110BT just below the USB port on the front of the receiver. If this does not correct the issue, the steering wheel control adapter wiring may have become loose or disconnected. Please help, I bought a Rockville Rws12ca internally amplified sub. I wired it in (everything except the "remote wire") to my car and plugged it I to my pioneer Avh-221ex. It flickers on when I start the car, but doesn't stay on. Is it because of the remote wire? Where does it go??
@deckerdotto6035
@deckerdotto6035 3 жыл бұрын
When you say " it flickers on" when you start the vehicle, what part are you talking about? The subwoofer? Or the in-dash receiver? Many amp/subwoofers need to be wired directly to the vehicle's battery for power and separately directly to metal for ground. There should be no shared power/ground connection to the in-dash receiver. Are you using RCA wires to carry the signal from the in-dash receiver to the subwoofer? If so, you'll probably need the "remote wire" or Blue/White to switch the subwoofer on and off. The Blue wire with white stripe on the back of the Pioneer receiver, is the system remote lead. It is used to switch on and off external amplifiers and, other parts, you want to switch on and off with the in-dash receiver. The Blue/white is sort of like an On/Off switch for an amplifier. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer receiver here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8h2Ztir38e4Y2Q.html I recommend to contact the manufacturer of your subwoofer for help with that product. @pioneerelectronics Жыл бұрын
Just so I'm clear, there are 2 separate external amplifiers in this system. There are several possible ways to make this work depending upon the capabilities of the external amplifiers. The Pioneer AVH-110BT has 2 pairs of RCA outputs. The simplest way to set this up is running both pairs of speakers from one amplifier. The receiver's front RCA outputs should run to this amp for the front and rear speakers. I recommend a crossover setting HPF of 80Hz for the front and rear speakers. Please note: You'll have no fader in this type of setup. The receiver's rear RCA outputs should run to the subwoofer amplifier. I recommend a crossover LPF setting of 80Hz for the subwoofer output. On the receiver, set the rear output to Subwoofer. This will give you subwoofer controls from the in-dah receiver that effect the rear/subwoofer RCA outputs. So I just bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport and the previous owners installed one of your touchscreen systems and it seems like it's connected great, the steering wheel controls work and the speakers are all working. The only issue is the subwoofer doesn't seem to be working at all. Could this be a connection/wiring issue or can it be fixed in the settings or does it just mean that the subwoofer is broken? In the settings it says the subwoofer is on, I played around with the settings (however I also don't know what a lot of them mean) but I just can't seem to get any sound to come out of the subwoofer. I looked at the subwoofer and it looks to be in great condition. How can I check to see if the previous owner hooked it up correctly to the pioneer?

What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? This is usually printed on the face of the receiver near one of the corners. Usually the model number will begin with the letters AVH, or DMH, or AVIC. If you have the receiver's Subwoofer output switched ON, that is very likely all you can do from the receiver to get the subwoofer to operate. Much of the rest is decided by how the subwoofer is wired to the receiver and the power system in the vehicle. Without taking the vehicle apart, it's difficult to tell what may be the issue. When you say the subwoofer is not working, please be more specific with your question. Is this a Jeep factory subwoofer? or a Pioneer subwoofer? or other after market subwoofer also installed by the previous owner? Is there a power indicator LED on the subwoofer? Are there visible controls on the subwoofer or it's enclosure? You can see it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qrh4i9B2xN7XcXk.html When you detach and reattach the face, or reset the system, you may need a password to operate the receiver. Since this product was purchased from a previous owner, it's possible the receiver is password protected. You'll need that password to operate the receiver if you press the reset button. Unfortunately, it's difficult to give accurate instruction with many variables in a situation like yours. Here are some possible solutions: If the subwoofer is in fact functional, I suspect it is not receiving an on/off signal from the new in-dash receiver. The subwoofer should automatically switch on and off with the in-dash receiver. This is typically done with the Blue/White wire on the back of the receiver. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer receiver in this How To video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8h2Ztir38e4Y2Q.html It's also possible, the subwoofer is switching on with the receiver, and is simply not receiving any audio signal from the receiver to playback. You can see that on the back of the AVH-W4400NEX here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/es1jf7eTzMrDj58.html or 2. through the speaker outputs. The Red and White jacks you see on the back of the pioneer in-dash receiver are called RCA outputs. The RCA outputs are designed to send a low level audio signal to an external amplifier. RCA outputs are not designed to be directly connected to a loud speaker or stand alone subwoofer. RCA outputs send the audio signal to an external amplifier. The external amplifier then sends the amplified signal to the speakers or subwoofer. You can see the red and white jacks on the amplifier here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html It's a common practice in car audio to use 10-15 foot RCA extension cables to send the audio signal from the in-dash receiver to the external amplifier. However, if your subwoofer has a built in amplifier, and this is commonly know as a self powered subwoofer, a subwoofer speaker and amplifier built into one box, you can use the RCA outputs to send the signal directly to this type of subwoofer. I have a cxa-360.4 kicker amp. Want to use the rca jacks and hook up 4 pioneer Ts 800m 6×8 door speakers only. ( No subwoofer). Switched to rear pre out. If I fade to rear speakers, have no sound. Can I bridge front and rear and run 2 channels? My unit is pioneer AVH - 110BT
@deckerdotto6035

The Pioneer AVH-110BT has 2 sets of RCA outputs. They can be setup as R/L Front and R/L Rear outputs, or, they can be setup as R/L Front and Subwoofer Outputs. I recommend to set up the RCA's as full range output. That means Pre-out set to Rear. You can see how to change the RCA output setup in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iq6ohJB-08ibeoE.html Just to be clear, I recommend to run two pairs of RCA cables from the in-dash receiver to the amplifier. And when wiring the speakers to the amp, you should wire one pair of speakers to the "A" channel on the amp, and one pair of speakers to the "B" channel on the amp. With both pairs of RCA outputs on the receiver set to full range output, when you fade you should hear sound on both front and rear outputs. The settings you choose on the amplifier will make a difference in what you hear from the speakers. I recommend to contact Kicker for support on the amplifier. It's possible there is a problem with the RCA cable, or trouble with the amp inputs, or the RCA output on the receiver. For testing, please be sure the receiver's Fader control is in the middle. As a test, you may want to swap around the RCA cables at the amplifier. For example, with the system switched off, trade the cables from channel 1 to channel 2 on the amplifier and from channel 2 to channel 1. Power up the system and try again. If you are seeing the same result, I would try a different RCA cable on the channel that is showing the low volume. Also as a test, you may want to swap around the speaker connections, to be sure the speaker cable or the speakers are not the problem component.

@@gandhi1078 Please be more specific about your setup. Are you saying the subwoofer has RCA inputs similar to what is shown in the video above at 0:30 as seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iq6ohJB-08ibeoE.html And you've connected the receiver and subwoofer with RCA cables with red and white connections? If that's the case, it sounds like it's a powered subwoofer. What is the make and model number? If your subwoofer has no amplifier and no power cables, and no RCA inputs, you'll need to use the receiver's internal amplifier and speaker outputs to run the subwoofer. I recommend to use the Green and Green with black stripe wires. These wires should connect directly to the Red and Black connections on the subwoofer. Please be a little more specific with the details in your question and maybe I can help. What Pioneer receiver model do you have? Are you using external amplifiers? What make and model number? Are the external amplifiers switched on? How are you delivering the signal from the in-dash receiver to the amplifiers? RCA or speaker level? Are you certain the cables are working correctly? That's the point of the LPF or Low Pass Filter. It lets low frequencies pass through. When you choose a crossover point, this also may be known as a cutoff point, all of the frequencies below that point are played back the the subwoofer. That means if you choose 80Hz for the crossover point, all of the frequencies below 80Hz are played. That includes 60Hz. If your clock and radio stations reset each time you start your vehicle, the in-dash receiver may have an improper connection for the Yellow Wire. The Yellow Wire must have constant power from the vehicle. This means if the vehicle is switched on or switched off, the yellow wire should measure at ~12 volts. The Red Wire is for accessory. You can view the red wire as the receiver’s on/off switch. The red wire should measure ~ 12 volts only when the vehicle is switched on. ---Do not connect the Red Wire and Yellow Wire together. --- Please take a look at this video for more information on wiring your Pioneer in-dash receiver: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y8h2Ztir38e4Y2Q.html The receiver won't play as low as the factory radio once did? It will be helpful to have some additional information about your vehicle's audio system. Are you using the new in-dash receiver's internal amplifier? Or are you using an external amplifier? Are you using factory speakers, or new speakers? Is there a subwoofer in the system? Is it a factory subwoofer? Or an aftermarket subwoofer? Is the subwoofer switched on? Is the subwoofer getting a signal from the receiver? Do you have the receiver's HPF, or High Pass Filter switched on? If so what is the crossover frequency? Did you try to switch the HPF off? Or lower the HPF crossover frequency? @@aapueepu For your subwoofer, you may need to adjust the gain control on the subwoofer to match up with the new in-dash receiver. On the front speakers. It sounds like you'll need to apply the HPF or high pass filter. This will remove the low frequencies from the front speakers and reduce the noise. You can lean about using the HPF in this How To video from Pioneer: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jqddg891nKu8eGw.html Since you have a subwoofer in your system it's common practice to remove the low frequencies from the other speakers. I recommend to set the HP for the front speakers at 80Hz to start.
