Hello. What to do to add a speakers for the front stage and a speakers for the rear stage and subwoofer? Although we have two rca output jacks !? Should we use cables to convert one output to two RCA outputs and connect it to the Rear/ subwoofer inputs?

There are many ways to approach this. All will work well depending upon your level of interest. I'll describe a few different options in this answer. Please read the complete answer. The simplest way is to use the Pioneer in-dash receiver's internal amplifier to operate the 4 speakers in the vehicle, 2 front and 2 rear. And use the Rear/Subwoofer RCA output to operate a self powered subwoofer like the Pioneer TS-WX1220AH seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iKySbLSh2Z-zkqM.html In this case you would not use the front RCA outputs from the receiver. The next way to consider is to use an external amplifier for the 4 speakers in the vehicle with a 4 channel amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D8704 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5OGlbhzpq3bcX0.html The GM-D8704 amplifier has 2 pairs of RCA inputs directly from the receiver front and rear RCA outputs. The amplifier also has one pair of RCA outputs that can be run to a subwoofer amplifier or to a self powered subwoofer. You can see it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5OGlbhzpq3bcX0.html?t=315 In this case you are using the GM-D8704 amplifier as a way to split the signal to a 2nd amplifier. You can see a Pioneer subwoofer amplifier here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bM5jlcKUmL_cnp8.html When using a Pioneer subwoofer amplifier you'll need a subwoofer to add on like the Pioneer TS-A300B seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h813ZNCml9uXiH0.html And one more way to do this is to use a 5 channel amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D9705 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html The GM-D9705 amplifier is a 5 channel amplifier. The Pioneer GM-D9705 can use the 2 pairs of RCA inputs directly from the in-dash receiver and will internally send the signal to the subwoofer portion of the amplifier. The GM-D9705 has great installation flexibility and is easier than installing two different amplifiers. You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here: kzfaq.info

What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? If you want to use the receiver for Bluetooth hands free phone calls, you'll need to connect to the Front RCA outputs. Voice from a phone call is only output to the Front RCA's and not to the rear RCA's.

Hi, Loved the vid, I am a bit confused, I have the DEH-S420BT which I have had for a month so far and enjoyed. I have it in a BMW Z3 1998 using the bmw speaker system as standard, but I want to add some under-seat subwoofer units taken from a BMW 218. I am looking to plug them straight into the RCA outputs on the rear. I can't get any sound from them at all - not even a click when I connect the leads. The subwoofers are fine as already checked. Is there something to actually switch them on? Many thanks
@pioneerelectronics
@pioneerelectronics Жыл бұрын
I'm not qualified to advise on the installation of BMW subwoofers. Please contact that manufacturer for assistance with that product. For the scope of this discussion, I'll assume the subwoofer is a self contained amplifier and subwoofer in one box. If that's the case, you'll need to apply power and ground to the under seat amplifier. It's common to wire the power connection of an external amplifier directly to the vehicle's battery and put a fuse in the power wire within 12 inches or so of the battery. The ground can be connected to metal in the body or frame of the vehicle anywhere. The subwoofer should switch on and off automatically with the vehicle. This is commonly done with the Blue wire with White stripe on the back of the in-dash receiver. You can view the Blue/White wire as the external amplifier's on/off switch controlled by the in-dash receiver. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer in-dash receiver in this How To video from Pioneer: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obhigLJj0N2qpZs.html You should have 2 RCA wires (red and white) running from the back of the in-dash receiver directly to the subwoofer. I recommend to use the rear/sw RCA outputs on the back of the receiver. In the receiver's Initial SP/PO settings. I recommend to choose Rear / Sub W. You can see it demonstrated in this How To video from Pioneer: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrOjf5Bm2t3Tl6s.html In the receiver's subwoofer settings, be sure to switch the subwoofer output on. You can see it demonstrated here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrOjf5Bm2t3Tl6s.html If these subwoofers don't have a built-in amplifier you'll need to ad an external amplifier to make them work. RCA outputs are used for sending the audio signal from the in-dash receiver to an external amplifier, or more than one amplifier. Your receiver has 3 sets of RCA outputs. They can be setup as Front, Rear and Subwoofer or as High, Mid, and Low. I recommend choosing Standard Mode in the setup menu and setup your RCA's as Front, Rear and Sub. You can learn more about Pioneer Standard Mode and Network Mode here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oZmhY72emtDaeJs.html The RCA's are set up as Rear on the top, Front in the middle, and Subwoofer on the bottom. The Pioneer MVH-S219BT has one set of RCA outputs for operating external amplifiers. You can use the in-dash receiver's Speaker Level Outputs to run the speakers in the your vehicle, and at the same time, use the RCA outputs for a subwoofer amplifier. Another option is to use a 4 channel amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D8704. You can see it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5OGlbhzpq3bcX0.html With the GM-D8704 Input select set to 2CH. I want to install an epicenter to the mvh s320bt. Can i use it with the head unit n amplifier only? Or do i need a preamp with it?
@deckerdotto6035
@deckerdotto6035 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert on the epicenter products. I recommend to contact Audio Control for more information about the use of that product. When setting up your Pioneer MVH-S320BT, I recommend to setup the rear RCA outputs as full range outputs by choosing the Rear/Rear Setting. You can see it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrOjf5Bm2t3Tl6s.html Do not use a subwoofer crossover or LPF on the in-dash receiver. You can directly connect the MVH-S320BT to the epicenter with RCA cables from the Rear outputs on the receiver to the input on the epicenter. No pre-amp is required, though one can be added later if you want. When using the epicenter, be sure your external amplifiers have a crossover, or you are using an external crossover of some variety for your subwoofers. okay sounds interesting and looks like it has a cross over set up inside? How do you physically install this unitusing 4 speakers and a sub. A 4.1 set up. 2-6.5's in front with 2-6x9's in rear with a sub in trunk. That comes to 6 rca jacks. Not 4. Maybe the front by itself and split the other two jacks with rca splitters? So one jack gets a sub and 6x9 speaker and the other one gets a sub and 6x9 speaker, split. Right? And the tuner actually sees the sub as a separate channel? As well as the 6x9's? Thanks.

Pioneer car audio systems have a very flexible design for many different types of installations. This answer is not meant to cover all possibilities but to give a few options that can be explored. Here are a couple different possibilities. Please remember the in-dash receiver has it's own built in amplifier capable of operating 2 front speakers and 2 rear speakers with a fader and balance control and crossover. For many people, the receiver's internal power is enough to enjoy the system. You can use the RCA outputs at the same time. The rear RCA output can be set up as a subwoofer output, with a crossover independent of the front and rear speaker outputs, and routed to an external amplifier, or self-powered subwoofer. That's one way to do a "4.1" setup. Another way to do this would be to use a 5 channel amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D9705 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html The GM-D9705 is designed to operate 5 speakers, for example a pair of 6.5, and a pair of 6x9's in with an HPF crossover... and a subwoofer with an independent LPF crossover all at the same time. And with much greater power than the amplifier built into the in-dash receiver. In this case, you can run all 4 RCA wires from the receiver to the amplifier. The amplifier will automatically split the input to it's subwoofer section. These are just a couple examples. There are many other possibilities. How would you recommend useing the sla function my brother has the deh-s420bt and trying to set the gain on his amp for his subwoofer and i can't get oscope peaks to round off , I'm guessing the head unit is sending a clipped signal ? Everything is set flat loud on low and firstly we can't get the desired 36 volts even at max gain and as previously said even at low gain the peaks are still flattening. Any advice? Fyi volume is set at 75% not max
@deckerdotto6035
@deckerdotto6035 3 жыл бұрын
Please be sure the amplifier has the power it needs to show the desired output. If the voltage is dropping at the amplifier power input or ground during high output testing, this may show as noise in your readings. The same goes for the in-dash receiver. I recommend about 14 volts at the receiver and at the amplifier during live testing. Don't test at the battery. Test at each piece of equipment. Try to use a different music source, or song. Different test songs and music sources will effect the overall output. If you are using a phone as the Bluetooth Audio source, it's possible you are creating the noise in the system with the phone before it gets to the receiver. A slight clip to the phone outputs will be amplified by the receiver. And very importantly, it's possible the phone output is clipping the input section of the in-dash receiver. If the in-dash receiver's inputs are being clipped, any thing you play even at low volumes will show distortion. You can correct some of this by lowering the volume output from the phone before the signal gets to the receiver. Be sure to turn the loudness function off. EQ is flat. All Speaker Levels are set to 0 or lower. Make sure Listening Position is Off. Listening Position changes the Speaker Levels automatically. Set Listening Position to Off. I recommend to use the SLA function to lower the volume of one source as compared to another source. Not to raise the volume. Set the SLA function to 0 or lower. So... Here is an example. This is hypothetical, please don't take the numbers literally and try to translate them to any given in-dash receiver. In this best case scenario I have excellent amplifiers and well matched speakers. My in-dash receiver master volume control has a maximum volume level number of 50. I have all of the audio settings set to zero, and I can turn up the master volume to 50 or close to it, and the RCA outputs do not clip. I set the gains on the amplifiers so that there is no distortion. That's what I want. Now, I add in a subwoofer level control adjustment of +5. When I turn up the master volume I can get to only volume level 45 before I begin to hear distortion coming from my speakers. If I add in an EQ adjustment on the 80Hz frequency band of +4, my master volume begins to distort now at volume level 41. Remember I started at volume level 50 with no distortion. Please note this is just a hypothetical example. In this example, the in-dash receiver is causing the distortion and sending that distorted signal to the amplifiers. The amps and speakers are simply doing the job they were designed to do. What's the solution? Use the audio controls to your best advantage. If you set them to zero or lower, your in-dash receiver shouldn't be creating much noise.

The RCA outputs on the back of Pioneer in-dash receives are used to send a low level signal from the receiver to an external amplifier. RCA outputs are commonly used in pairs. The RCA outputs on the back of Pioneer receivers are Red for Right and White for Left. Pioneer car audio amplifiers and self powered subwoofers with built-in amplifiers all have the same Red and White RCA connections. Hi, so that means if I use a component set in the front and a subwoofer in the back with 2 RCAs going into my aftermarket amp (ch 1-2 is front speaker and 3-4 is bridged to my subwoofer), do I have to set my Pionner head unit to SW/SW mode?
@pioneerelectronics
@pioneerelectronics Жыл бұрын
What is the mode number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? With an aftermarket amplifier, I recommend to use the front and rear RCA outputs from the in-dash receiver to send the audio signal to the amplifier. The in-dash receiver's front RCA outputs are always set to full range, unless you choose to apply the HPF in the Audio Settings menu. You can set the rear RCA outputs to subwoofer output by setting the Initial Setup menu as REAR / SW . This means the receiver's speaker level outputs are set up as full range, and the RCA outputs are set up as Full Range front and Subwoofer rear. There are several different ways this can be setup. It depends on your subwoofer, amp and component set. If the component set has an external crossover, you'll want full range output from the Front RCA output of the in-dash receiver. And, if you are planning to use the crossover on your subwoofer, or subwoofer amplifier, you'll want full range output from the Rear RCA outputs from the in-dash receiver. In this case you'll want REAR/REAR on the receiver's Initial Setup. And you don't want to set and LPF on the front or the rear outputs as shown in this How To video from Pioneer: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ns90gqahnJu5cX0.html However, if you need to use the LPF built into the receiver for the front and/ or rear RCA outputs, I recommend to use the REAR/SW setting in the initial setup menu. Then you'll need to choose the crossover and slope settings on the receiver for each output as shown here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ns90gqahnJu5cX0.html You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here: kzfaq.info

Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to power off when the vehicle is powered off. If your receiver stays on when the vehicle is switched off, your receiver is wired incorrectly. Focus on the RED wire. The Red wire should not have power when the vehicle is switched off. Do not wire Yellow and Red together. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer receiver here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obhigLJj0N2qpZs.html Look at the sides of your sub amplifier. Nearly all modern amplifiers include a power indicator LED. This is typically a red or blue LED on the side or top of the amplifier. When it's lit up, the amplifier is on. When the vehicle is off, this power indicator should also be off. You can see this on a Pioneer amplifier here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7uhZZh41NWUo4k.html Pioneer in-dash receivers have a Blue Wire with White Stripe. This is the System Remote Control wire. Its all set up and working lovely. But the question is, what does that slope setting on the subwoofer or the other speakers actually do? Ive been searching the web for an answer, but most people dont actually say what exactly the slope does to the sound experience?
@pioneerelectronics
@pioneerelectronics 3 жыл бұрын
This is a basic explanation of the concept of crossovers and slopes and is not meant to cover all of the ins and outs and what have you's in this discussion. Not even close. The crossover and the slope work together to provide a powerful sound shaping tool to customize the output for your particular speakers in your setup based on your listening characteristics. If you have ever seen a prism separate sunlight into the component colors of the rainbow, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, a crossover does the same thing only the crossover does this to sound. A crossover is a filter. There are two basic types of crossovers. LPF or low pass filter, and HPF or high pass filter. Speakers are designed to playback selected frequency groups. It's very difficult to design a single speaker that can playback very low frequencies and very high frequencies and do it all very well. That's why we have woofers and tweeters. You want your subwoofer to only play low frequencies and not high frequencies. That's what the woofer is designed to do. When you choose a crossover point, for example 80Hz on the LPF this is the crossover point, or cutoff point. Only frequencies below 80 Hz will pass to the subwoofer. That's what you want, and this is what the LPF does. However, it does not cut off like a razor. Does this mean that 80Hz plays through the subwoofer, but 81Hz does not play? No, that's not the way it works and this is where the slope comes in. The slope decides how sharply the filter rolls off the sound output. The slope is rated in decibels per octave, for example 12dB per octave. An octave is when we double the frequency or cut the frequency in half. With a 12 dB per octave slope and an 80Hz crossover point, at 160Hz, or one octave higher than 80Hz, the subwoofers output will be 12dB lower than the output at 80Hz. And 24dB lower at two octaves higher. The higher the frequency goes, the less it's played by the subwoofer, all starting at 80Hz. This is a gentle roll off. A sharp slope would be 36dB per octave. How does this effect the sound from the speakers? This is a tool to customize settings in different vehicles. You use the crossovers and slope setting to decide what frequencies go to what speakers in your system. For example if you are using 6.5 inch full range coaxial type speakers in the door, I recommend an HPF set at 80Hz and 12 dB per octave as a place to start. The door speakers will play all frequencies above 80 Hz. If you find the speakers low frequencies are breaking up at higher volumes you might change this to 100Hz. Or you could keep the 80Hz crossover point and change the slope to 18, or 24, or 30 dB per octave. Both of these settings might provide a good solution depending upon your speakers and listening habits. It's often a good idea to have the LPF and HPF meet at the crossover point, this way there is no frequency gap in the playback between speakers. You can see what a crossover and slope setting does in this Pioneer How To video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jdx6i7yZm9zPj2Q.html This video is very detailed and has a lot of information about what a crossover and slope does to the sound output. Please take some time to watch it with the sound on. You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here: kzfaq.info

Let’s say you set your lpf to 80 with a slope of -6, you will probably hear a lot of frequencies above 80 up to maybe 300hz but they’ll progressively get quieter from 80 to 300 until there’s nothing above that. Now set the slope to -24, and maybe you won’t be able to hear above 120 hz from your sub and from 80 to 120 they’ll progressively get much quieter than the -6 slope. And maybe -64 slope you pretty much won’t hear anything above 80hz. The actual number of the slope or ‘q’ as it’s also called means how many dbs of sound drop per octave (an octave is x2 hz), so if you set your lpf to 80hz at a -6 q, 80-160hz will be 6db lower than 20-80, and 160-320 will be 12db lower than 20-80, 320-640hz will be 18db quieter than 20-80hz and so on. The slope determines how abruptly your sub will no longer play notes after a certain frequency.

I have on mind buying a 4 channel TRF M600.4AB amplifier and connect the sub to channels 3 and 4 bridged and also connect 2 additional speakers on car's shelf (on channel 1 and 2). On the amplifier there are two sets of rca inputs, one set for channel 1 and 2 and one set for channel 3 and 4. The input rcas from channel 3 and 4 (sub rcas) will be connected to R/SW output of the stereo and input rcas from channel 1 and 2 will be connected to F output of the stereo ? Or it doesn't matter? Also which are the correct settings that i have to choose on speaker and preamp mode ?

I recommend running both the Red and White RCA wires from the Rear RCA output of the Pioneer AVH-120BT to the Red and White RCA inputs on the amplifier. Be sure you are using both of the receiver's Rear RCA outputs. Be sure you are plugging the RCA's from the receiver into the RCA input on the amplifier, and not the RCA output. Super Important: On the amplifier, right beside the RCA input is the Input Level Button. If you are using the in-dash receiver's RCA outputs to deliver the signal to the amplifier I recommend the Low setting on the amplifiers Input Level Button. If you are using the in-dash receiver's crossover, I recommend to set the crossover to 80Hz to start. If this case, the crossover setting on the amplifier should be set to 200. The amplifier's gain control may need to be adjusted to get the proper balance from the receiver's output and the amplifiers input. To learn more about your amplifier, I recommend to contact Kicker or to read the amplifiers owner's manual. Yes, you can do this a number of different ways depending upon your amplifier capabilities and if you need a LPF crossover for the subwoofer. You can use both the speaker level output and RCA outputs at the same time. I recommend to set the receiver's speaker output as REAR/REAR. This means both the rear speaker level and rear RCA outputs are full range. You can learn more about it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/at6WYNWUnq-pn58.html You can then use a crossover at the amplifier to filter LPF or HPF as needed. 1. If your 4 channel amp has an RCA pass through, or an RCA output, this is typically a 1=1 input / output, and it may be easiest to just use this rear RCA output and send low level signal to the subwoofer. 2. If you can't use an RCA input on the subwoofer and it must be speaker level, then I recommend to use the rear output for connection to the subwoofer. 3. Remember, the audio from a Bluetooth phone call comes through the Front RCA and Front speaker outputs only. Music from Bluetooth will play through both front and rear outputs. For support with Taramps products, please contact that organization directly. This amplifier has a 90Hz HPF built into the full range outputs. If you set the receiver's REAR RCA output LPF crossover at 80HZ, you won't hear any high output from the amp. That's exactly what the products are designed to do. Don't blame the in-dash receiver for this issue. The receiver is operating correctly. The issue you're seeing is created by the limitations of the one RCA input pair on the amplifier. If the amp has only one pair of inputs, it needs a full range (high and low frequency) input if the amp is going to playback both high and low frequencies. You can use the Front RCA output from the receiver. Or you can use the Rear RCA output from the receiver set as REAR/REAR. This setting means that full range (high and low frequency) will be output from the receiver's Rear RCA. Please note, you will not have subwoofer control from the receiver with the Rear/Rear setting. And the receiver's subwoofer output will only effect the Rear RCA output. The solution is to get a 5 channel amplifier and run it in 3 channel mode: For example: The Pioneer GM-D9705 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html Please note the Pioneer GM-D9705 has 3 pairs of RCA inputs and you'll have full control over the subwoofer from the in-dash receiver. Once you have gone through the Initial Setup process shown here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/at6WYNWUnq-pn58.html The receiver should keep these setting until they are changed by the user or until the receiver is disconnected from power. If your clock and radio stations reset each time you start your vehicle, the in-dash receiver may have an improper connection for the Yellow Wire. The Yellow Wire must have constant power from the vehicle. This means if the vehicle is switched on or switched off, the yellow wire should measure at ~12 volts. The Red Wire is for accessory. The Pioneer GM-A5702 will operate reliably at impedances down to 2 ohms. That means if you run a subwoofer on the right or the left channel of the amplifier it can operate down to 2 ohms. If you plan to bridge the amp outputs, the the overall impedance must be at 4 ohms or higher.

Yes. You can use the speaker outputs to power up to 4 speakers in the vehicle using the receiver's internal amplifier. At the same time, you can use the RCA outputs to send a low level audio signal to an external amplifier to power a subwoofer etc... Please note: the Initial Setup in the video above for what type of output is available on the rear speaker output and the rear RCA output. @@pioneerelectronics And how do I connect to 4 speaker output, if I only have 2 of tweeter and 2 of door speakers?not the 2 font and 2 rear speakers?
@pioneerelectronics
@pioneerelectronics Жыл бұрын
@@kurtlan4636 There a several different possible ways to make this work, depending upon how the existing speakers are wired. If there is one pair of wires that goes from the door speaker to the tweeter, ( one speaker connection shard by 2 speakers) this can be connected to the Front speaker outputs on the receiver and run with an HPF of ~ 80Hz. If there is a pair of speaker connections for the tweeter and a separate pair of speaker connections for the door speaker, I recommend to connect the door speakers as the Front output on the receiver, and to connect the tweeter as the rear output on the receiver. Set the front HPF At ~ 80 Hz and set the rear HPF at about 2.5kHz . This will be important for hearing Bluetooth hands free phone calls while driving. In addition for this front/rear setup, be sure to set the Initial Speaker set up as Rear/Sub W. This is shown in the video above. A 3rd way to do this is to ignore the tweeter in the setup. Simply connect the door speakers as the front speakers with an HPF of ~80Hz and let those speakers also work as the high range output. Forget the rear output. And a 4th way is to buy a new pair of speakers like the Pioneer TS-A652c seen in an unboxing video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jNOlrbOqvauml4U.html This pair of speakers have one speaker connection for each pair of mid-bass and tweeter set. Your Pioneer MVH-S622BS has three pairs of RCA outputs for operating external amplifiers. Front, Rear, and Subwoofer outputs. Please be more specific with your question. Are the 6x9 speakers connected directly to the in-dash receiver? Or to an external amplifier? Is the subwoofer a 2nd amp? I recommend to use the Rear/Sub RCA outputs to connect to your subwoofer amplifier. Use the REAR/SUB setting in the Initial Setup seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrOjf5Bm2t3Tl6s.html I recommend to set the in-dash receiver's subwoofer LPF crossover to 80Hz, with a 12dB per octave slope, to start. You can see this demonstrated in this How To video from Pioneer: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrOjf5Bm2t3Tl6s.html Be sure to test the subwoofer phase control. Test both Normal and reverse. One of these may work better in your particular setup than the other. Both are good to use. You may need to adjust the amplifiers gain control. If too little gain, you won't get good performance from the amplifier subwoofer. However, too much gain gives you distorted noise at higher volume levels. RCA outputs are used to deliver a low level audio signal from the in-dash receiver to an external amplifier. The amplifier then amplifies the low level signal into something that can be used by a speaker or subwoofer. When you adjust the in-dash receiver volume, this will effect the output of the RCA's. You'll need male to male RCA cables to run from the in-dash receiver to your amp. Depending upon the amp location, these RCA cables are typically 10-15 feet long. No worries. There are a few ways to approach this, and it mostly depends upon how you want to set up your complete audio system. One option is to get a 4 channel amp that has an RCA throughput, like the Pioneer GM-D8704 seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5OGlbhzpq3bcX0.html With this amp, you can run 2 sets of RCAs from the in-dash receiver to the amplifier and you can run the 4 channel amplifier's RCA Output to a subwoofer amp. A 2nd way to do this is to run the Front RCA output from the receiver to a 4 channel amp like the Pioneer GM-D8704. This amp can be setup to operate all 4 channels from one input. And use the Rear RCA output from the receiver to the subwoofer amp. And one other way is to use a 5 channel amplifier like the Pioneer GM-D9705. The SP-P/O setting REAR/SUB.W means the Rear RCA outputs are subwoofer out and the Rear Speaker level is operating at full range. If you are using the line level converter and an RCA input to the "B" channel of the amp, yes, what you've described will work just fine. Use the HPF built into the Pioneer receiver as your crossover for both the Front and Rear channels. You will certainly need to adjust the "A" Channel and "B" Channel gain controls independently according to the differing input levels. @@EvertonconnorConnor It sounds like the Pioneer DEH-X6600BT is operating normally. The front RCA outputs (with no HPF selected) on DEH-X6600BT are full range outputs. The will send a full range audio signal ~ 20 Hz to 20 kHz out to your DSP. The crossover settings you use on the DSP will determine the output frequencies for your amplifiers. If you apply an HPF crossover on the DEH-X6600BT, it will filter out the frequencies lower than the chosen crossover point. What you described above is normal operation for the in-dash receiver. The LPF crossover on the in-dash receiver will only effect the REAR RCA outputs. It does not change outputs on the Front RCA's. So unless you are moving wires to the rear RCA outputs on the receiver, you're still sending a full range output to the DSP from the front RCA's. @pioneerelectronics 3 жыл бұрын
No worries. There are several possible ways to setup your system. First, 3 sets of RCA outputs (Front/Rear/Sub) is ideal for your system but not absolutely necessary. With 3 sets of RCA outputs, you'll have control and settings over the entire system from the in-dash receiver. However, with 2 sets of RCA outputs (Front/Rear) and a sub output generated from the other RCA's some of the controls and settings will be at the amplifier instead of at the in-dash receiver. Still very usable, but not quite as easy as with 3 sets of RCA's. If that's really an important thing to you, I recommend to return the SPH-10BT and go with a receiver that has 3 sets of RCA outputs such as Pioneer MVH-S720BHS seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fKiTnphzy6nSiHk.html or the Pioneer DMH-WT8600NEX seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9imgc54zLjTZ3k.html Much of this depends upon your 5 channel amplifier. The Pioneer GM-D9705 is a 5 channel amplifier. You can see it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html The GM-D9705 does not require a subwoofer RCA input to playback subwoofer output. The amp can use the front and rear full range RCA inputs and internally send that signal to the subwoofer portion of the amplifier. You can see this here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b594mdCUnbfchpc.html?t=440 You still get full crossovers for Front/Rear/ and subwoofer through the amplifier. In a setup like this you don't need to use any speaker level outputs, only RCA.

The Pioneer MVH-S420BT is a 2 DIN receiver. The MVH-S320BT is a 1 DIN receiver. Other than the size form factor, they are the same. You can see the Pioneer MVH-S420BT here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/arOhnKmgzMuZfps.html and you can see the Pioneer MVH-S320BT here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mb6SqceXzLK3YqM.html You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here: kzfaq.info

@@deckerdotto6035 Thanks! But are you sure? The 420 is a 1-DIN on our Danish Pioneer site: www.pioneershop.dk/produkter/228-1-din-bilstereo/9633-pioneer-mvh-s420bt-bluetoothtraadloes-telefoni/ And it looks very similar to the 320 :O

You didn't previously mention you were in Europe. That changes things. The videos here are made for the North American market. The European version of MVH-S320BT does not work with iPhone with a wired connection. MVH-S420BT works with iPhone with a wired connection. The rest appears to be the same. I recommend to contact Pioneer Europe for more information. www.pioneer-car.eu/eur/products/receivers/overview You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here:

The RCA outputs on your Pioneer receiver are designed to send a low level audio signal to an external amplifier. RCA outputs are not designed to directly operate speakers. If you are looking for a small subwoofer, with super easy installation, please consider the Pioneer TS-WX130DA seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r6qPqauTudGspYk.html or if you want a little more thump, the Pioneer TS-WX1010A seen here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/osh8qdmr29ywoqM.html Both are subwoofers with built-in amplifiers. Also, your Pioneer receiver can run a small subwoofer 8 inch or so, from the Rear Speaker output. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer receiver here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obhigLJj0N2qpZs.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here: kzfaq.info

I recommend using the Initial Setting SP-PO Mode "REAR/SUB.W" This makes the rear RCA outputs Subwoofer Outputs and it keeps the Rear Speaker level outputs as full range speaker outputs. Use the Rear RCA outputs from the in-dash receiver to send the signal to the subwoofer under the seat. You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZfaq Channel here: kzfaq.info
