I was told by someone who was there a few years ago, that if you rent a vehicle you are not permitted to cross rivers with it. I can understand why they would do that, but it could make almost any journey around Iceland difficult, or impossible. And the campground is mostly rocks or mushy wet stuff, so you really want to be up off the ground if at all possible - a cot would be ideal if you are in a tent. But it does look spectacular, and worth the hardship to get there and stay.

I don't think this is true. I rented a Toyota Land Cruiser and crossed many rivers while driving all over Iceland.

We are going in June. Looks like 26 and a short part of 208 are paved now. 208, from the north, is not listed as an F Road, until you get to F224. Unless it's rained out, is 208 passable by 2WD from 26 to F224?

Hi, if we do ring road plan 10 days plus one day to Landmanalagar one day , which is better? Rent 4x4 whole trip or just park car and take a bus one day? Thank u

I've heard there's a bus from Hella at 8 45 and comes back at 15 45, so you only have 3 h for the hike , is that enough?

Booking in advance is always a good idea. If you're unsure of whether or not you'll follow thru on the plans, just make note of the cancellation.

Well, I don't know how I came across to your channel. Have watched many videos, but in the end, it was not clear how did you manage to relocate to Iceland. I mean, which kind of visa did you get? how did you manage to get it? Roughly, how much money is needed to live a year there? Could you answer or make a video about it? Thanks in advance. Cheers!
