I never seriously thought about learning this song. But this is one of the best rhythm guitar lessons I could imagine. If a beginner worked their way to playing the main rhythm figure properly, they'd jump ten steps on the rhythm guitar journey.

I’m using it as an example from now on. Never really threw light to it before in lessons but you’re right. Plenty to take away from it when discussing the relaxed strumming hand and not breaking that rhythmic helix. 🧬

This is, by far, the best tutorial I've ever seen. I mean that. I've been occasionally tooling around with this song since I first heard it at age 14 back in 1995. I have a "dad rock" band now and we're progressing to the point where we've been closely studying Zeppelin songs and trying to nail them (we do a mean "Out on the Tiles") but I digress. Your teaching method and overall approach/demeanor is absolutely perfect for the average player wishing to take it to the next level. I wanna thank you.

I have been searching for years for a lesson that accurately captures Pages nuanced playing on this song, but none of them sound quite right. Even with very accomplished guitar players. Thanks Sped O'. You had me at Ten Years Gone video a long time ago. Almost feels like 10 years ago in Jamaica. Love you're dry sense of humor. I've been playing for almost 40 years. And I can't remember how many videos from you I have saved for reference. The PRS tuner instalation not being one. It's just too frightful. You're a very excellent teacher who likes to nail the sound and tone AND take your time in showing the viewer exactly what you're doing. You're simply saying, in a very polite way, just stop and listen to what the musician is doing. Very much like my old friend from 🇧🇷, a very good musician as well, answered with when I asked him 30 years ago. Why can't I play the blues like Jimi?? Jorge' simply said, it's because you ain't sad enough. 😎😎

Thank you ! Great lesson. I always wondered how the title "D'yer Mak'er" should be pronounced properly...just to make sure I'm being cool. That in itself gets a thumbs up from me. Since when the album came out, I also thought it is was obvious that this song was intended to poke some good natured fun of 50's and early 60's pop.......similarly to The Crunge as a satire on James Brown's funk which was really popular at the time....( still is) It was like " Here you go folks.....Led Zepplin kicks the crap out of a standard early rock progression. " And they did. I loved the transition from this tune into " No Quarter". One of the best transitions in my album memories.

I know a lot of this channel is tongue and cheek but just wanted to say Sped that I have learnt so much Zeppelin from your channel and in quicker time than any other places I have tried to learn these songs from. Is it because I have progressed as a guitar player? eh maybe but I truly believe it is your style of teaching and you really leave it up to the student go to as deep as they shall. Anyways just wanted to sing you some praises and toot your horn a bit lol...

When I was younger I probably skipped it more than I should have. Our tastes change don’t they, it’s only natural that we will like different songs, books and films as they do.

@@SpedSpedding I thought about you the other day as I do now when the Leds not to be confused with LEDs came up. I guess I didn’t save any typing by using Leds there after all. 😂. I was looking at a pic of the four of them on the street in black and white that was taken when they first got together. No poses or special attire. Just a pic and they looked like four kids that would get thrown out of a pinball parlor. As I looked at it with the thought that they are undoubtedly the best Rock and Roll band to ever get on together and the effect they’ve had on so many, it says so much about music and what it can do. And what can be done with it. Thanks for writing back, Sped!
