I missed playing ffx so i tried using my ps2 slim last sunday, but the ps2 can't read it as a ps2 cd 🤷🏻‍♀️ idk if it's the laser problem or the cd is just too old. But I'm glad i found your video since now i have 3 options to proceed. Have a dvd burned with my game Have the ps2 cleaned since it's really old so maybe the laser will work And if neither work, have it cleaned and then order free mcboot online. This is so helpful, i know there are remastered versions available on steam and ps3 & ps4 etc. But i cant afford any of those and miss the experience of playing games on my old ps2

Any games that are larger than 4gb then you may have to use a program called usbutil

If there is a error i.e error the game is not fragmented you can turn off check USB fragmentation option and if you don't want to turn it off you can use defraggler to defrag your stored files

You can install only opl in every slim ps2 scph-9xxxx with any data code but it should be modded with modchip like matrix infinity (not only this modchip)you will need a CD or DVD and install wlaunchelf seeing that what you have bought CD or DVD then burn it in wlaunchelf using any burner like ultraiso , poweriso etc.then run that CD or DVD on ps2 slim and then download wlaunchelf only zip(not iso) with boot.elf file in it and copy it in USB and also insert that CD or DVD and USB in ps2 then run PS2 and go to filebrowser make a boot folder in mc0 if there are no files in mc0 try in mc1 and make a boot folder in the memory card(in capital letters)copy boot.elf from mass folder and paste it in that folder then download opl and paste it in USB now when you start PS2 without CD or DVD hold R1 button when you turn it on to boot in wlaunchelf and go to mass again and create a folder named opl(in capital letters) in memory card and paste all the files of opl in that folder which you have created in mc0 or mc1 and run open2load.elf then go to settings and change USB auto to manual if you are using USB .If you are using HDD select HDD as manual then go to games list and select USB or HDD and press x(run) which is displayed on screen controls select game and you are ready to go.

its saying the file is fragmented but other than that it is reading the flash drive.

Nilalaro ko din ps2 games sa slim ko. Not using a USB though meron kasi akong NAS sa bahay so a centralized storage system. Ginawa ko lang nag setup ako ng share for ps2 games set that to ps2 loader and ayun solve. Pros nito is walang stuttering lahat ng games and since naka nas ako, yung 2 ps2slim ko iisa lang yung kinukuhanan ng games no more usb.

This video is better with the audio off. Why do youtubers think that background music adds any value to the video? It distracts from the narrator and makes it harder to hear what the narrator is saying. Some videos have the "background" music so loud, I can't hear what the narrator is saying!
