Awesome tutorial using the same fingers to slide but if you've ever seen Dave play this he actually doesn't slide he uses his index and middle finger and then instead of sliding he switches the next chords to his ring and pinky. I play it the way you explain much easier and enjoy the slide sound. It adds a nice sound when playing without a band backing.

Man you just made this so simple! I just saw Dave on vacation in Florida at innings fest and I recorded this song because it's like my favorite live Dave song! There's so much depth in this song it just moves me! Thank you so much for the tutorial! I hope to learn it over the next few weeks and play it at recovery notes in Petoskey Michigan!

Thanks very much for the lesson, my friend! Just a quick question: you are muting only the A and D strings right? You are playing the B and e strings loose? Cuz if you´re only playing the E and G strings you´re only with the tonic and the third of the chords.

Question, is there an advantage to switch between middle and index finger on the low E string? Or does it not matter?

Hi Bo - thanks for your message - there is no sonic advantage but these shapes are pretty popular from song to song and this is the most economical fingering - worth chasing! Shane

Just curious and an amateur on time signature. Is this 1:6 timing or 1:4 or other. May even change? and if a lesson idea on that idea would be cool.

you’re playing it wrong, it sounds very choppy the way you play it. What Dave play it, he uses different fingers
