I remember back in high school...
(I know, I sound like a boomer already!)
I had a friend who was a big fan of Nirvana
When I would visit his house, all we would do is watch videos of Nirvana!!
After that we were all inspired...
So we did what most young musicians did in the 90s
We started a Nirvana cover band
At the beginning it was just the 2 of us
And it stayed that way!
In fact, our only show was at the bottom of my friends drive way
Our audience consisted of cars driving by and disgruntled neighbors...
One things for sure
It was one of the most fun and memorable shows I have ever done!

The equipment I use:
Drums: The drum kit I am playing here on this video is a Mapex Orion. Its a 6 piece drum kit. Tom sizes 10, 12, 14 and 16.
Cymbals: The cymbals are all Zildjian: A series...
Moongel: I am a fan of moongel on all the drums. It dampens the sound and makes it more punchy... If you have a problem with overtones, definitely give it a try...
Microphones: I use Audix microphones
Bass Drum Pedal: The pedal used here is an Axis longboard.
Recording Software: Cubase Elements 10
Video Editing Software: Sony Vegas Movie Studio 16
Digital Interface: Behringer XR18
Drum Sticks: Pro Mark 5A Nylon Tip
Camera: 2 x Canon 800D. 1 x Sony Handycam

Dave always gets the credit for this one but it was actually their first drummer Chad that wrote these drum parts and dave played them near identically when they re-recorded this song for Nevermind. There is actually an early music video of this song with Chad. I didn't know any of this before deciding to learn this song. Dave Grohl didn't join Nirvana until this album. Chad deserves all the credit here.

@@rockyvsrambo82 yeah Chad got snubbed for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. Chad was the drummer on Bleach which is a classic album. Thankfully Dave pointed out this stuff when Nirvana was inducted!

Great! Could you write-explain the counting of the beats too? I was able to reproduce the 'chorus' part after listening to your playing, but don't understand the theoretic place of the first snare there (exactly on 2?, why the 16th note mark?). Thank you!

Hi Peter... Thanks for the feedback... The counting in the chorus beat would be 1 +u 2 e + u 3 +u 4 e + u... I will perhaps add counting to future lessons on the sheet music if this helps... The snare is a 16th note as the bass drum is on the e straight after it... Let us know if you have further questions... Thanks Peter
