The ulti at 27:20 wasn't for wave clear. It was for finishing off Zac and trigger his passive. You can see this by both looking at this portrait health bar and the fact that the symbol dissapeared from on top of his current level square.

From my understanding of the champion the single most important power spike he has is Essence Reaver. Once you have it you don’t have any mana problems what so ever. This makes items like manamune and runes like presence of mind pretty bad on him. I run boots and biscuits secondary as anything saving me gold is super worth. Biscuits is all I need for mana until I get ER. I like dark harvest or fleet footwork as primary runes (aery can work decent too). RFC second is just too good and navori 3rd is pretty core. Finish it off with LDR and BT and shield bow/guardian angel and you’re good to go. I always go boots of swiftness (move speed gives E a lot more terrain it can cover)

rfc is troll until u have 225 stacks because ur q doesent do that much damage maybe its decent if team is squishy but 3rd item is pointless too because after u have botrh essence reaver and navori u build one tank item always because u already have a lot of damage with ur 225 stack burn so u go tank so u dont get one shot and this way is i think best way to play smolder

Presence is always meant for early game only, manamune is most likely purely for the damage it gives. Sacrificing early game stacking by choking yourself on mana by not taking presence does not seem great. Being able to spam spells in lane seems far more valuable than triumph. Manamune is one of the highest damage items you can buy on spell based marksmen afaik, so it seems like a fine 2nd item that fits the stacking mid/late spikes.

Overheal works very well with smolders Q since you can stack it quickly on minion waves. And running AH instead of attack speed or adaptive damage on your minor ruin could help you get your stacking faster in the early game.

If playing Smolder in a solo lane, PTA can work well at it procs with the Q, giving Smolder surprising damage in a 1v1 in the early game.

Far too risky. Sure if you get an easy matchup it's fine. But laning against Irelia/Fizz/Akali/Kat/Zed/Sylas/Panth or any champ with a gap close that can hard cc or just one shot you is going to make your life hell.

@@hanspennyloaf335 I tested it a lot in both top and mid, and Smolder's E allows him to outplay a lot of champs that most ADCs would not be able to. I was able to reliably beat even those kinds of champs by just spacing them and using E to dodge important abilities. He can't win in a dps race after about level 4-6 so it's important to focus on wave control over kills to get those stacks up. His Q and W are good poke abilities so getting them low and following up on ganks is his best bet for getting kills. If you really can't fight them, neutralizing the wave with his quick clear will make sure they can't get free priority or are stuck under tower for most of the lane. I faced a really good Yone top yesterday who could easily one shot me, but I just cleared waves and played safe until I outscaled him later. The obvious advice though is just don't blind pick him so they can't counter pick with strong laners. He's better off as a counter pick against tanks or other ranged top laners who can't really punish him hard enough to keep him from scaling.

Smolder stacks conquerer for free late game because his q burn continuously applies the stacks. So it may not be strong early game, but ofcourse he is a scaling champ. I know this because if you have shojin on him, one q will give you 4 stacks off of one champ. I think it only happens after 125 stacks though. That's why he goes conguerer.

What I've been doing with Smolder (inspired by korean builds) is to go doran's ring instead of blade for the mana regen and scaling on his W and harassing with W while getting ranged minions low for Q stacks. Over all though I get more stacks from hitting champs than Qing minions since hitting champs with any ability gives you 1 stack, same as last hitting a minion with Q

I’ve been playing a lot of smolder and have got a 60% win rate with him. Going Doran’s ring makes his early game really strong. You can even put some points in w as his q is pretty useless early. I have been taking presence of mind and cookies, but I think presence of mind is wrong and conquered will be better. Anyway, Doran’s ring is for sure correct on him. Maxing E is also not so important if you have a sup who can peel for you

what do you think about teleport? since smolder is so reliant on stacking tp can be a get out of jail free card back to lane in case something goes down.

Tp is good, but he is so weak in lane and really need not get caught in team fights, thats why you def need clense or ghost. I play him mid and if I sort of know I can kite them, I take tp. If not, ghost.

I prefer Ghost because if you manage well your waves (I know that even with good knowledge you can’t every time), you don’t really need a TP and Ghost pairs well with his E because it boosts your MS by 100%, so, if you ghosted first (it may occurs after but i did not test it), you gain even more MS. And since you have a medium/low range, it’s really useful during trades and teamfights, for kitting. But I go sometimes on Heal if the enemy botlane will trade a lot (and my sup is also an engage one).

And I use the comet build. I start with a Doran ring and put 3 points on W before maxing Q. It gives you some good poke (makes the early safer) and you stack well with that. The rest of the build is classic but I don’t take manamune since it’s a bit pointless with the ER.

Sadly you missed the mark with this one. Maybe reupload is in order. You skipped all: best runes, starting items and skill ordering. You also used random games from a few pros that do not represent good playing patterns. There are multiple pro players that have mastered Smolder better and are even streaming on twitch. Still, I'm giving a like for a fast upload. Will wait for an updated version too ^^

what i normally do is go for essence lucids navori then 1 tank item and then lifesteal is nice but it depends but normally u go tank item 3rd item like frozen heart or mr

Insane that you chose like Viper's first game where he was testing some random bullshit...and then you chose Eyla, who is a SUPPORT player. In fact, as Gima123123 said, you completely missed the mark with this video. Try again with Shogo, Gumayusi, Jack Spektra and Tomo.
