First of all, GREAT lesson in that superb Davvy way of which only Davvy is capable. Awesome. Next, I have to say I share completely your take on the chorus. I can’t quite explain why, but it’s never been something I enjoy. And, like you, this is one of my favorite Dead songs. I love all the other parts, and I love the way it’s changed over the decades. It would be fun to come up with a chorus that works better with the song. You are a million times better than I am at all things music so I bet you could come up with some cool ideas, but it would be a good challenge for me, too, so maybe I’ll play around with it to see what I can come up with. 🤘🏽

it's been so much fun to hear how this song changed from the 1970 version throughout the years and what a huge party song it became .. and the jeep thing let's remember that back in the day folks were moving to the country and having rural lifestyles (dead moved to marin & ranches) so 4WD was a tool .. also didn't know that weir had the 2 most played tunes .. bobby the kid wanted in 10 states for stealing women from their men ..

Great lesson. I've been playing around with this song for years. You have helped me smooth out the rough parts of my interpretation of this great song. BTW, the 'jump like a Willy's in four wheel drive' is my favorite line in the song. I guess you'd have to have been in a Willy's in four wheel drive to understand it.
