I had a rocket 44 just like that one behind you there. killer amp! ol Jack Bruce never held still for very long! He was just as melodic with the bass as any guitar player with the guitar( sometimes more so). Often times there's a whole world of interesting stuff going on with the bass on those Cream records. Unless you're deliberately listening you will probably miss most of it though because he could simultaneously hold the song together with a rock solid low end and then sneak in melodic runs with chromatic passing tones, scales, arpeggios etc. all blended perfectly.

From a bass playing perspective I definitely think of this as a Dm chord... especially when you look at the overall presence of the note ‘F’ in Jacks bass line. When I play a Dm arpeggio on the bass it fits fine to my ears... Hope that helps :-)

I think that the hardest part are the fills in 3rd verse and outro solo. I am not seeing those? The first chromatic in verse 3 made me take more bass lessons to up my speed.
