I think they wrote the Death Grip ability without that ruling in mind.

Very nice video, but it would be a tiny bit more helpful if the chances for Death Grip would take into account the fact you're rolling two dice. So vs T2- it would be 75%, then vs T3 it would be 55% and vs T4+ it would be 30%. Still not great odds, but it pays to know the actual chances :)

Wow being able to trigger that reaction off a 3” melee attack does open that ability up a fair bit. Enjoyed the thorough video! Keep cranking them out!

We really need clear FAQ answer from GW about disengage from over 1".

I think the wording makes things work out but like the disengage/damage sequencing stuff; you shouldn't need a PhD in english to decode what GW are trying to say XD

In addition. You are playing their reaction the correct way. Without it, these two warbands do not functionally work

I've been thinking using these with +2 dogs from the Hexbane Hunters, and I dabbled on Warcrier for a while trying different lists without any allies, with and without the Arbalester, kit-bashing him into a Spear and so on, until I settled with this 1.000 pts list OUT OF THE BOX: (1.000) (11 models) 115 Warden (L) 175 Arbalester 100 Leatherhide Spear 100 Leatherhide Spear 90 Trailblazer Crossbow 90 Trailblazer Crossbow 90 Trailblazer Crossbow 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound This is exactly out-of-the-box, no kit-bashing, but the only thing is, you Proxy the Scouts with Crossbows as Trailblazer with Twin Crossbows instead. Even though they are not wielding two crossbows in each hand. I would simply build the Official Trailblazer WITH THE SABER, actually, just so that way all the Scouts and the Trailblazers look alike (One crossbown in hand, and another misc weapon in the other). But all 3 of them would be considered as Twin Crossbows.

This looks good from a 'whats in the box' standpoint; especially if you want to do those Trailblazer conversions with the remaining X-Bows that you get from the scouts and leatherhides.

@@OffMetaMusingsJust out of curiosity in terms of combining Wildercorps with Hexbane in a functional complete list, how would you go about it and would it work at all? I mean, many of the Hexbane Hunters kinda mirror the stats of the Wildercorps and in some cases a bit better than the wildercorps-chaff? Would be fun to run a combined list if possible, even if just for a bit more visual flair and minor stat-changes 😅

@@Mike-er5ws I already replied to you DAYS ago, but for some reason my comments are not being sent on my smartphone, must be something with the KZfaq App bugging out, but: I made a list using the Hexbane Hunters, I include all of their models, exept Aemos, the guy with the Axe. Quietpock has a very cool ability, it's an explosive arrow that explodes and does AoE damage at range for a Triple, I find it very amazing. Brydget stats are unique and a lot of fun. And also, having +2 dogs for the Kill! ability is nice, and in total, having 6 dogs on the game is really cool. Here's the list I made with them: (995 pts) (12 models) Wildercorps + Hexbanes 115 Warden (L) 175 Haskel Hexbane (*) 150 Quietpock 95 Brydget 75 Scout 75 Scout 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound 60 Trailhound

Is it possible to react to the bonus disengage action? And how about abilities than negate disengage actions?

You can only react during an enemy fighters activation so there is no reacting to the Hunters reaction :)

I'm going to counter this by charging in two to three figures in at a time. Overwhelming firepower is always a good thing. Meat for the pile!!!!

Leatherhide with spear is so close to Arkanaut Company w/Skypike. Rather just pay the 75pts for the duardin.

haha thats true. Though I've never been one to insist that the same profile should be worth the same in different warbands; a fast fighter would be more expensive in a slow warband then a fast warband for example just due to that speed being more desirable. Though the ally system kind of gets around this...

I think you made a mistake on the math for the doggos. They have two attacks, so the probability would go 75%, ~55%, ~30%... I think.

Their action only works on attack hits, and as of the Jan 2023 faq, hits and cross are counted as different things for the purposes of abilities. So unfortunately even if they hit on a 3+ only 2 of those 3 hits would actually net an activation if bite.
