IFish everything the same as you described except 12 lb mono all the way through helps to have that stretch with a big fish

Very true! Because of the braid, I have backed my drag way off on the bite, then increase if needed. But mono can be a good way to go and just keep the drag a bit tighter!

Alright Cody, I gotta ask, why no single/siwash hook on the plugs? Have you ever noticed a difference in hook ups with one over the other?

I have played with single siwash hooks of ALL kinds. Here is what I have found...The single siwash give you a better hook to land ratio...HOWEVER...the rear treble hook acts as a rudder when put on the split ring correctly. This balances the plug better and gives it better action. The trebles swim with the plug where the siwash works opposite of the tail of the plug. So...if it is a fishery that requires single hooks, no problem, I will make the switch and focus on ensuring the plug is swimming correctly still. But, if there is no single hook restriction, I will use a treble hook 100% of the time!
