How to power your home with the Ecoflow Delta Max

The Delta Max solar generator has a 2kwh capacity per unit and 2400 watts of power, which can be used to power most of your home (except 240 volt circuits). I’ve used it during a power outage for about 10 hours, and my 4 kwh setup was down about 60%. If adding 800 watts of solar panels to charge the batteries I could potentially power my home indefinitely with this setup, as long as there is plenty of sun during the day, because the batteries will last a good 12-18 hours and recharge during the daylight hours every day. For reference my home is 2600 square feet, and I have 2 furnaces. Everything can be powered up except my 240v AC units. Thanks for watching, and subscribe for more similar content.

That cable is called a suicide cable for a reason: the exposed plug is live when the other end is plugged into the Delta Max. If you touch it, it will kill you. You need to install a generator inlet plug and a proper disconnect in the panel so you can't backed the grid or the inlet plug accidentally.

I’m case I didn’t clarify on the video, the cable must always be plugged at both ends first BEFORE turning the power on, and even more importantly the main house fuse must be switched off.

technology is really coming ahead of itself I have a questions can you use more than two Echo flo batteries also I'm not good with electricity building anything so can these suicide cables as you mentioned can you have someone built them for you since you cannot buy them in regular store,I guess my next question would be why can't you buy them in a regular store or a hardware store are they illegal or something that they do not sell them or is this such a new product they're just learning what they can and cannot use can this be applied to any electrical box
@electechchannel3739
@electechchannel3739 Жыл бұрын
This type you can use up to 3. They have the Pro model which you can use up to 6 for a total of 22kw, which will run a house for days. Yes it can be used with any electrical box and yes the cable is technically illegal but very easy to build with store bought parts.

Anyone found that this can power a residential electric home for heating purposes?
@electechchannel3739
@electechchannel3739 8 ай бұрын
It depends on the power draw. As long as it’s under 2000W you should be good to go. The Delta Pro larger unit can put put up to 3600W, that would probably be better for heating.

Your setup is dangerous and illegal. You don’t have an interlock kit to keep you from accidentally leaving the main on when you backfeed into the outlet. I’m not an expert on suicide cables, but it’s dangerous and may also be illegal.

Dude, I hope you have good insurance. When main power goes out, you can power your house as you have said. But you fail to mention that your unit is not only powering your own home but is back feeding through the power lines to your home. Therefore your unit might electrocute any lineman who thinks the line is safe and touches the line to your neighborhood. Your unit could kill the power company guy who is trying to restore your power. Please do not use a suicide plug. It's dangerous to the repair crew! Think outside the box bro. It's not just about you and your home. Your unit is feeding back through the power line that feeds your home. Dah!
@kevinbarnes2806
@kevinbarnes2806 Жыл бұрын
yeah, its not a safe way to do it but he turned off the main breaker, so it is not feeding back to the power lines like you have said. It's probably fine if he's the only one in the house, but I would not recommend this method. There are a lot safer ways to do this yes. but you are overexaggerating about killing the line man. now if he forgets to switch the breaker, well this is a bad story.. that's why I don't recommend this method as people forget shit all the time and when you do it could be a bad outcome

@@Travis-hj9ic Important thing is installing a generator interlock kit on your main electrical panel. That will prevent backfeeding electricity to the lines that supply your house. You will also need a breaker for the generator and an inlet box to plug in the generator .
