nobody’s gonna sit down and teach you every scale because there’s way too many of them lmao. he’s just referring to how to shape the scale on the fretboard so that you’re not confined to one position, which will really hold you back when improvising solos

I was trying to put this in words, but you said it pretty much straight forward. I would humbly add that it may be hard to see the restrictions in creativity (e.g. soloing) that position playing can put on you, until you actually can break free. Like hindsight, 20/20 and all that. But I guess we all gotta start somewhere ;) Cheers!

He played a scale - 2 notes per string. Is your sound on? I mean, you know what "2" means right? It's one more than one. And a string - those long wobbly things. And a scale: check Julie Andrews - the Sound of Music. Beyond that, I don't know what to suggest..get Rick to play it for you?

Take the D note on the 10th fret of the bottom E bass string and try spelling out the D major scale(WWHWWWH) with two notes on each string going up the strings. Isn't as hard as most other Rick Beato videos.

Beautiful guitar with some kind of sustain floating as you play that scale! It has that Neal Schonn feel to it, from the infinity album? Love his, and the band playing together. Neal's cosmic notes are a perfect floating dance with Steve's soaring voice. Perfect name for a band that acoustically and harmoniously literally took you on a Journey!

I just stopped the video a few times and figured it out pretty quickly. The concept is simple enough. Start at one note, go up 2 notes per string through the scale, stay on the last string until the next octave, then descend through that same scale 2 notes per string. You'll learn a lot more trying to figure out the notes of the scale, rather than simply playing a line off of notation. The last part is just the ascending triad arpeggio with 2 extra notes on the descend for a better resolution to the tonic.
