I am a nitro fan.. I found your video very useful... I have a savage 4.6ss... with FLM extended side plates. I worked my way up to 100k diff lube to really help with strong acceleration and akward landings not chewing up my diffs.. I respect all that use electric.. By trade I am a Diesel Mechanic .. I Like engines.. With all do respect... Your power plant.. really dont matter.. Its the durability of the environment you intent to be in..... This video educated me to not buy aluminum parts. But buy better parts... Thanks..

Hi, The optimal option is HPI Savage XL stock tires (Terrapins). Big, light, super traction on all field and thick foam.

Stock is grey alloy the HD is black. I just changed mine today. The new flux doesn't come with the HD gear. It does come with the new battery trays which are great.

Yep. But Trenchers are probably close in 2nd position. Id say 10/10 for terrapins and 9/10 for trenchers. They are still a verry good option, but terapins has thicker foam and are (usually) cheaper. Im also a fan of the spike design... Nothing as better traction off road then a SPIKE :) .

By bad gears setting i mean that the gap between the 2 gears is too big. Usually due to a bad shimming or a broken pieces (Bearing or broken bulkhead). This part of the truck will very rarely break when shim correctly. Usually, people will break a gear, change it for a new one and break the new one few min after. Make sure to inspect carefully all the differential part, shimming and bulkhead.

Terrapins are not a must :) ... I think they are the best, but Stock savage tires are also very good !

I like to say that as long as you land on the wheel, nothing breaks :) . That beast wills probably still breaks, but WAY less than any other MT on the market. Tx for watching and comment!

Thanks for the video. Got myself a Flux HP from holiday to US and really pleased. Will do the HD gear first and def put the ESC protection on then see what's left. I plan to go bashing, got a spare new shell of eBay. What would you say Bonz XS tyres on 1/2" offset maximizers would be like compared to terrapins? Any good for bashing?

Hi, I never tried any of those parts... But offset are ususlly bad option for bashing. The best way is to install stock Savage XL axles to have the extra 1inch wide.

@mrhotflight Hmmmmm... I have never try it and I rarely comment something I’ve never try. With that in mind, I don't think it worth it. Only the rear hub carrier is important, rest of the pieces that this kit changes rarely breaks. It may change a little bit your driving on a racing track, so if you want to save 1/2 sec per lap, it may be good :). I don't say that it is a bad kit, but for 150$+shipping, it just does not worth it to my humble opinion. Thanks for watching and comment.

what do you mean bad gear setting? i just got the truck not even a full pack through it when it went out could it maybe be a shimming issue.. my local HS is no help at all..thanks for the help

Does the HD drive gear come on any of the newer flux trucks? I bought mine used and trying to figure out if I have it already or if i need to upgrade. Is the stock one a different color?

Hi SJ! i'm thinking to put T6979 on the rear. Alza racing says it is for the savage xl, so this means i need to put xl axles on the front, isn't it???
