Not my first recession either, but coming into this one with no debt, a small cushion, investments in steady stocks and a deposit for a new car which could be used if needed. Currently doing all the over time I'm offered to build my cushion.

Oh, I’ll be canceling my gym membership and working on my side hustle! Working out at home is FREE.

There was a time when we " made it here", we had jobs for everyone and the products were of high quality, then the 1% wanted everything. Now Inflation drives prices up and if Inflation is high and jobs disappear by the millions we are in a recession and maybe headed for a Depression…So be careful with your money. It may take decades to get back on pay again. Luck to all.. I've seen folks make huge 7figure profit in a crashing market and pull it off much easily in a bull market Unequivocally the crash/recession is getting somebody somewhere rich...

One thing I'd add is to make sure ppl's finances are protected by Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) or equivalent schemes for up to £85K of wherever your money is kept (savings, current account, investments, pensions, etc...). Consider moving money around for the best protection & savings. P.s. I'm not a financial advisor 😊

Have also cancelled my gym membership, work more overtime, or electricity-shifts as we call them for fun to pay for increased bills🤪 We also charge our el-cars for free at work, ie no petrol ⛽️ Hubby was savvy years ago so he has bought an apartment, all cash which is just finished, so he has passive income as well. 🙏 We have defiantly been money cautious always, think we will manage alright 🫶 Best of luck on the auction 🤞
