In reality if u are from different branch and study for gate cs while u are already in btech with different branch . Things will get worse because its not that much easy that anybody would come and clear .. because there is also 11 subjects. For dropper it might be easier but it would be very very difficult to manage for college going students. Because studying gate cs means u are studying 2 branches together one is cs and one is ur college branch

If you are from ECE then ...Iisc Bangalore, IITs- Bombay, delhi, Madras, kanpur, kharagpur, Hyderabad and also other new iits allow non cs students for mtech cse admission and nit Trichy also....Rest iiit Bangalore accepts ece student for mtech cse,iiit Hyderabad,isi kolkata also accept.....Apart from these premier institutes I don't know about others

Bhaiya, I am persuing BTech cse from a tire 3 College In Kolkata Can i start my presentation from my second semester for gate . I want to do Mtech from a top IIT . because the placements of my college isn't so good . The average package is 4LPA . That isn't an issue but also good companies also don't visit our college 😕 I wasn't focused enough in my school thats why i could not able to crack jee But now I will give my maximum potential To secure a good future for my self . getting iit through Gate is very easy compared to getting iit through Jee advanced, all u have to do is learn discrete mathematics properly , then u can easily score around 25 marks in GATE or 100 rank. general cut off of iit cse is about 700

If you want to pursue higher studies then go for gate. Otherwise upskill yourself and switch to different roles. But of course after masters from top colleges you will easily get those opportunities.

Good evening sir, since I am a 3rd year mechanical engineer and following my conscience I want to appear for GATE CSE, and to widen the horizon of my career prospects in CSE as packages in CSE are way higher than MECHANICAL by leaps and bounds , however I am little dubious and apprehensive that which projects I should do now so that once I reach IIT BOMBAY and during placements for SDE level they will ask me about projects and I know my competition will be with B. Tech CSE students who must have done good projects during their BTECH which will harbour them to SDE level profile, so in short I am asking what and how many projects I should do before my gate preparation for CSE and in which domain FULL STACK or something else so that once I reach IIT my projects would be harbinger of breeze which will land me SDE job in Amazon or Uber. If somebody is from EE (B.Tech),but goes for M.Tech in CSE from IIT, will he/she face any problem during placement (from company side) as he/she is from core branch in B.Tech..Do the company let him/her allow appear for the placement?

BTech branch will not matter. Everyone in MTech CS is allowed to sit for placement.

@@ManishMazumder It's Matters Mostly My Friend Has Done BTech In Ece and Doing Mtech In CSE So He Faced Many Problems During Placements Because Company Also Sees Your Past Qualification If You Done BTech in Ece and Mtech in CS Then It Really Matters
