Lenard I’m a retired police officer from New York City went in at 24 retired at 44 . And at the time all I needed was a high school diploma.3 years later thay required a college diploma : ) I was lucky.

I have a Class A misdemeanor that was differed from 2011. It was UCW in Texas. Class A's, even differed adjudications, are lifetime disqualifers unless I somehow get a waiver. Do you think there would be a possibility in Florida?

Thanks for the video, I anyways wated to become a police officer for a couple of reasons. 1 - To serve and protect the people. 2 - Because I rights have been violated many many times in Miami-Dade Specialy in Hialeah, for this reason I have about 26 tickets, most of them were given to me as a punishment for knowing my righst. And police officers will never admit wrong doing. So most of this tickets have been dismissed in court. The only ticket I did pay in the last 7 or 8 years that I recall was a speeding tickets 80 on a 70 (turnpike). Also, on 2015 I was charged with a misdemeanor for shoplifting. So it took me almost 2 years to expunge that record and clear my name, so as of today I have a clean record for 2+ years and not guilty in any traffic tickets for at least 7+ years. I am 33 years old, my girlfriend and I have been together for 6 plus years and we have 2 beautiful kids one is almost 2 years old and the second is almost 2 months old. So with this what are my chances. I would love with all my heart to serve the people as a police officer and make a good impact in the community, but I can't risk that money if I am not sure I can get a job. Thanks for your time.

@Josue Rodriguez Hey Thanks for your replay. However, I need to be honest about it for a couple of reasons. First of all, it's one of the key factors why I would love to become a police officer, so I can work for the people and in few years if I can make it to be a supervisor make sure that my officers will not violate people's rights. Then talking about this abuse is the only way to explain why I have so many tickets. So that's a subject that I can't avoide.

Can you take steroids as a police officer? I am bit overweight and I need to be fit asap.

It won't disqualify you, but it will hurt you. Taking any illegal drugs must be disclosed and it will hurt your chances more than if you were clean. Keep in mind, being a cop is more about attitude, obeying the law, learning lessons, and integrity than brute force. Using steroids (recently) will tell the detectives you: 1) have no respect/don't care for the law, 2) probably do other illegal things, 3) Will do illegal things to get ahead (more prone to cheat), 4) tempted to take the easier way out. I would recommend you just workout normally and not take steroids. Besides, the fitness exam is EASY. You shouldn't need steroids for it.

Hello I have a question. I got disqualified from two local police departments and one sheriffs department I got fingerprinted from one local pd in California if I were to move to Arizona would I be able to apply without telling them that I got disqualified from agencies in California is that possible and if they were to find out how would they find out?

Hey I have a question, so I submitted my PHQ for the police department I applied with and now it’s been a month and I haven’t heard back from them, I even emailed the recuiter but still nothing. Does that mean I’m disqualified?

I got disqualified for admitting to stealing candies at the age of 14. I got disqualified and appealed. Since I lost the appeal, I can never apply with the agency ever, Lapd. I have friends that are cops, and they were telling me that I didn’t have to disclose every detail. I’m now a journeyman lineman, making on an average of $250k a year. America’s economy, politics, beliefs, value and government is going down the toilet. Time will prove that.

Yes, IBEW, local 47. I’m working in LADWP property. There’s more to money like changing peoples’ lives, doing good for the public, and giving police officers the prestigious reputation that they deserve. I get to deal with the public time to time with my current job too, but my first dream was taken away for the wrong reasons. Our country, our government, private companies, everybody can live better and can live a wonderful life, but it’s our nature to choose not to because complete failure is key to success.

Richard Eun exactly. My relative is local 47 as well and I’m compelled to work with 47 since It’s one of my many plans should life take a turn. I couldn’t do my dream job so I’m trying with the police, and if not then I hope I can do 47 as well.

Yeah, I’m not disappointed that they haven’t given me the opportunity; I’m disappointed how my honest truth and integrity backfired so brutally. I wonder how many honest candidates they let go. I wonder what will happen in the future for us all.

I have a question, I went to take my live screen fingerprints for California Corrections. I'm going, to be honest with you, and would like some advice. In 2013, I applied for a cleaning agency, that agency cleaned the sheriff's buildings. Even though I did not apply through the sheriff's agency, they to took my fingerprints to work there. The problem was that I forgot to mention it on my PHS form, do you think they will find out? They fired me from that job because I wasn't working the way they want me to, but it was 7 years ago.

i took my pelletb last saturday (march 6th 2021)before testing i discovered that having experienced with drugs within a 3 year period is an automatic dq. i Ended up just taking the test to get a feel for it, although i didnt try. Point being, am i correct in knowing tht because i had an experimental amount of narcotics and hallucinogens 2020 october its safe to say i will be disqualified? Thanks!

Lenard..i was a 13 y/o cuban boy when i came to U.S. back in 1961..was hired by LAPD in 1974,,,and now retired,,, I sure dont see the difficulty in obtaining employment w/ city/county departments...the hiring standards have come way down to accommodate quota hires of unqualified women and africans...pretty pitiful...and consequently unqualified people slip through..total morons. Memba...girls come and go...but when your looks go...your pension keeps you in the green..and financially secured.
