Excellent advice. Wearing snug can definitely add life to your bracelet. Will look into an ultrasonic cleaner.

Thanks for info and clip. Have purchased a Squale 1545 with a "jubilee" bracelet which I like. But have read negative comments about that bracelet without explanation. Will size snug! Pins are screws? Removal of bracelet looks involved.

My bracelet is on the slack side. I have placed protection of vey thin leather (golf glove) on the inside of the strap using double sided tape and this takes the strain from the links so they will not continue to wear and there is no chance of the bracelet breaking. Cut exactly to the width of the strap, this been on for over 4 years now and still there. Really successful tip.

Thanks for the information about the bracelet stretch on the Specifically Jubilee bracelet on the Rolex watches. I didn’t know that all the dirt and all make it stretch. I have best friend just bought a date just with jubilee bracelet and I actually told him about stretch thing. When I do have enough finances I will personally purchase a Rolex watch but I prefer to purchase an older one or should I say a vintage one like the 1972 r6694 black dial with diamonds or not diamonds.

If it has no bracelet I would go with diamonds if the bracelet is still in good shape I would go without diamonds.

Thank you. Really apresiated information. What do you think about Rolex noe having ceramic covered pins in the president bracellet from the Day Date? Will that work. Is it possible to change pins? My Submariner 1680 from 1976 look with an enlarges bracelet. Is it possible to replace end links for solid? Thank in advance for you answers.
@itscomplicatedwatches
@itscomplicatedwatches 6 жыл бұрын
Great questions. I don't see why you couldn't replace hollow end links for solid ones but I also don't see any reason to do so. Unless you plan on maybe selling the watch in the future. For your first question I think the Day-Date is one of the ultimate true luxury pieces out there and gold should be gold. Not covered in anything else. Thanks for the comment!

It's Complicated I hope I will never sell that watch as it is a present from my father. I got it 42 years ago brnd new from the AD. The idea is improve the bracelet as solid end links perform better and have a better performance.

I have a bicolor datejust with a jubilee bracelet. If i let it clean with this device, is any color diffrences expectable? Like will the gold get harmed in anyway? Thanks for a short feedback :) appreciate the conten!

Rolex hasn't plated any watches in a very, very long time. I'm sure the gold in your Rolex would be just fine in an ultrasonic machine. I lean my gold chains in the machine often. Glad you like the videos!

No that I'm aware of but I'm sure there is. I wonder if the more modern Rolex jubilee bracelets will stretch as badly with the solid center links.

I own mainly vintage steel bracelets that are older then 30 years and most have signs of stretch. I kind of "grew up" with the thought, that bracelt stretch is normal, only when i got new watchbands or non used watchbands i see that its not stretchy from factory. If im ok with the stretch (repair is not viable, and replacement bracelets virtually non existent) is there any really downside? I mean its harder to fixate the watch if you want a snug fit, but if you dont want a snug fit anyway the difference in wear quality is kind of neglectable. Will at one point the links possibly break since they are thoo thin? Has anyone experience with that?

I’m sort of freaking out. I bought my fiancé a 1988 Rolex datejust. Left it in the box since February 2019 to give as a wedding gift and when I went to check on it I feel like it stretched even more because we removed links and snapped it back on the watch holder (which was tight). Now this could be in my head because I haven’t seen it in a while. What do you guys think?

Not necessarily true. Just shipped my stretched oyster band to a place in Miami called Rolliworks. They pull the band apart, clean and re- pin the entire bracelet. They can also laser solder gold and steel of the corners of the links have worn away. Much cheaper than a new bracelet. I’ve seen great results on the Rolex forums. Hopefully mine comes out as well. We will see in about a month.
