Is it normal that my hair is 4c but just looks wavy and dead? It’s never been dyed before and the curls don’t bounce back up when I pull on them

Thanks for making this video! Can you do a video on curlsmith vs bounce curl? I feel like my hair is very similar to yours and I'm scared to buy the wrong products due to the expenses. I've tried bounce curl so far, and I love the avocado and rose clump defing cream, however their light cream gel makes my hair feel dry and stringy....

Gena, I have the air dry cream & the leave in conditioner. So you don't use both together? I'm new to curl Smith & am not really sure which products to use. I have low porosity, coarse, dry, type 3a curls medium density. (the pic in my avatar is when I used to straighten it. I stopped that a few yrs ago.

Hi Gena, this couldn't have come at a better time for me, I placed my first curlsmith order on black Friday! I'm interested to see how the moisture memory reactivator works in winter as it has glycerine in, have you tried it? Also, have you tried the oil in cream for a leave in. My hair is very similar to yours so just thing to find out which products might be suitable 🙂

Using a denman & mousse .. gonna to try w gel. I think I tried KCC custard & it seems to dry my hair & it won’t stay wet..

I like using a Behairful or Denman brush to redefine clumps when refreshing. Hope that helps!

Hey Gena! So my elder sister actually has really dry hair and she has eczema on her scalp. It's just like small pieces of skin falling off her scalp. Her hair keeps coming out and we're just so scared she'll get bald. We've shown every dermatologist but no hope. Do u have any remedy for this?? Basically we follow the CG Lorraine method. Should she shampoo her hair?? Is there some medicated shampoo she can use??

What would you suggest for someone with low density with baby fine strands that’s also naturally dry,dull,brittle hair? I’ve been doing this CGM for 7yrs and finally seeing some natural shine. Yes after 7yrs of trial and error and 100s of 100s of dollars spent from high end natural hair care companies to drug store affordable CG products and stylers. I only have Curlsmith detox system and tried their vitamins for 5 mos and barely saw a difference in my fine strand low density,dry,dull,brittle hair.

Been wanting to try the custard from curl smith, have you trying the Kinky curly custard? That’s my holy grail. Just wondering if their similar at all?

yes, I have! I like that one too but it has so many humectants that I find my hair frizzes up very easily in the humidity. I prefer the Curlsmith Souffle :)

How do you clean your Behairful brush? I am scared to try because I am afraid that the cushion will get too wet.

I run it under water with some soap and then shake out the excess water. The cushion part dries out fine within like a day. I just leave it out so it can air dry.

same!! what helps for me is sleeping with a loose bun and every morning i spray my hair with water (with or without some moisturizing product, depends on how my hair looks) and after a few seconds of scrunching the curl comes back!

if u want ur curls to clump, why do u brush and define to clump your curls but then separate them anyways?

I separate some just so I have more volume because my hair is low density, and too many thick clumps makes my hair look thinner overall. I still get small clumps and definition after separating big clumps then scrunching. 😊

I think hair density is a relative thing. Just when you think your hair is thin, trust me, there is someone with hair that is thinner. Be happy with whatever you have and make the most of it. Thank you for your videos, I may have seen every one!!!!

Yes of course. “Low-density” is considered anything below 2 inches in circumference when measuring your ponytail.
