I’ve been trimming shrubs and hedges on the side for 15 years now. I have definitely learned a lot along the way. The last couple years I’ve been pricing by the shrub. Small through jumbo. It’s worked out quite well. Making way more money than ever before. My pricing more than makes up for the clean up time. Disposal too😃😃. Swamped already. Set a minimum for yourself or crew. I don’t leave the house unless the customer is willing to pay my minimum which is 225$ this year. Regardless of how many shrubs they have. No more driving to across town for one or two shrubs that need trimming. Crackheads can do that piddly shit. Be professional and stand your ground with customers that think it’s easy work!!!!! Real talk on the hedge pricing. When I do hedges I usually use a tarp to put on the ground if the hedges are over mulch then I blow all of the clipping into the grass and use my honda mulching mower with bag to mulch and vacuum the debris up. Then I simply dump the clippings in their trash. Otherwise I charge them another $25 to haul it off but they always say oh yeah, just dump it in my trash so I never have to haul it away.

This is a fantastic video man, you are so smart and really understand things. As you mentioned breaking it down to each single bush with estimated times, and quoting a range to save your bacon incase it takes a bit longer than expected. I haven’t trimmed any hedges yet but am excited to because I have a nice hedge trimmer. I have used all these tips before and also implement the dump fee for cleanup. I did a fall leaf cleanup last year and charged $30 for a truck bed load of leaves and it cost $10 to dump them. So the rest covered my time and I was happy. For those customers who have hedges in their yard, I'll let them know before they get out of hand, how much I'll charge to do them if they want me too. Some say go ahead, some pass. It doesn't hurt to offer services just make sure u getting paid

Good video. I stay on top of my customers shrubs regular. Meaning that in the spring/summer growing months I'm gonna be trimming every month to a month and a half. That way the shrubs don't get really overgrown and I'm able to give a consistent price. I charge an hrly rate that starts when i open my truck door and ends when I put all of my equipment up. Haul off fee of 35$ On a side note, most of my customers have pinestraw landscape beds and instead of picking all the millions of clippings out, I instead just flip the pinestraw over onto the clippings. Works out great because there's nothing more bothersome in the GA heat than picking up a million little leaves.

I charge 10-30 per bush ( up to 5ft wide) and cleanup- 60-80 anything above 8ft tall and 75-150 haul off fee. Hopefully this will help someone else price bushes.

Don’t cut lawns, only eastern cedar hedges. We charge a lot more for three guys. 2 guy crew can invoice $1200 in labour per day but it’s a hard job on a 20 ft ladder.

I'm a certified Treekeeper from Chicago and I've been trimming small trees and shrubs for over 16 years in a volunteer capacity. Now I'm thinking of having a side hustle to make extra money on weekends trimming small trees and scrubs with my hand prunner, loppers, hand saw, and extended prunner. I remove dead, damaged, diseased, and crossing branches and I give them a lift. I'm also a professional muchler. I can plant trees too but I'd rather not do that heavy work. I make a good living working from home as a project manager and have ambition to do more. Also, I'm a healthy 57 year old women 5'6" tall and medium build. Do you see any safety concerns? Thoughts? Lastly, I'm rom Chicago and live in Wisconsin near the dells. I will have me hubby help cleanup but sometimes he can't attend.
