How To Prime Fuel Line Chinese Diesel Night Heater

This short video shows how to prime the fuel line for a Chinese diesel night heater (See links below for bench test & where to buy). To get the heater to operate, the diesel heater needs to get fuel through the line and in to the heater for combustion. To allow the fuel to flow there is a short procedure to follow using the control panel to allow the fuel pump to operate at a faster speed to get diesel flowing through the lines. Once fuel is at the heater, shut off the pump operation and the heater should then fire up and burn off any purged fuel and operate normally.

@@TheCampervanBuilder Amen! I got it running great but I lost tack of time and it ran out of fuel and no matter how many times I purge the line and restart it it won't ignite and heat up. I haven't seen any videos about running them out of fuel. Thanks in case you see this!

Mine came with a flexible green fuel line that I heard aren't as good as that hard white fuel line that you have in your video. is it PVC tubing or Nylon, and do you know where I could order it, thank you. Thanks for the info!

Dribble a few drops of diesel into the pump before priming for the first time! This will keep the pump lubricated until the fuel reaches it! A long dry purge may be enough metal on metal to damage the pump! Then you might want to help the pump on its inital purge by lifting the tank up (above the heater).

Everything looks identical to my machine, but pressing ok and down does nothing. My problem is that the pump isn't working.

i had to tap my pump on a piece of aggressive and loosen up the inside then it worked again

I see your control panel has the same issue as mine. The outer casing of the wires is a bit short, looks tacky.

I see you have the problem my heater had, the fan catching the neck of the intake. I had to leave off the intake grille to stop the noise.

New all in one Didn't work Pump clicks 7x quickly then slower for a couple minutes, then heater gives an error code 8. Fuel and air not moving forward, Just jerking in the lines. After an hour of resetting and trying to purge, the diesel dripping from the exhaust

Disconnect the fuel line from the heater and fire up the heater as much as possible. When it starts - crank it on full blast and let it run until the smoke clears out or for an hour or so.

Would you know why the fuel pump would work just fine in the priming stage ("H on": pump moves fluid and, occasional bubbles that move through the line ) and then when I tried to actually start it the pump starts acting up, and intead of pushing fluid through the line, it just bounces back and forth until it only pumps air/doesnt pump at all, even in the priming stage(still clicking)? There are no bubbles in the line going to the pump, and i bought a second pump thinking the first was faulty

how is your pump positioned? It needs to put vertical or at a slight angle with the outflow pointing UP. Also, what kind of fuel line are you using? it is soft and rubbery, or hard? You need the hard fuel line. Let me know some more details and I can help you more

I would say close to the fuel source so it doesn't have to suck as much air to prime the line

I do everything you're explaining but my pump doesn't come on any ideas why could it be a faulty pump I've had the heater just about a year now used it just winter last the pump just will not any ideas would be gratefully thank you

my heater has same prime key combo, the pump sounds same, but no fuel every moves in the line even if I prime it x10, if i just power on to start it goes through its startup routine then ends with E10 code, I manually filled the line+filter but the few bubbles in line seem to never move makes no difference, so believe your video is telling me my pump is defective - is that even possible as the pump click according to other videos is the pump moving to its metal on metal position, its a new ebay unit mounted in case with handle - should have cranked it up when received but waited too long seller not into support.

Mine controller looks different the 3 buttons are on the left and the two buttons (ok) are on right. When I hold both bottom buttons it doesn’t go into prime mode

sometimes it will take repeated priming to get enough fuel to the heater, once primed its ok though

Depends how dry the line is ran, if you use all the fuel in the fuel lines as well as the storage tank, then probably yes

shake the line, change its orientation, tap or flick the line, make sure the feed is in plenty of diesel so its not sucking air, change the orientation of the filter, that should help

I missed this setting up my heater. It doesn't work when I press OK and Down together. Just wondering if it can still be properly primed because I still have air bubbles?

I added an old socket on bottom of my pickup tube into diesel tank to hold it down as the springy hose can float up sometimes. It'll work good once primed up, it should work pushing the two buttons as I just did mine. If not you can try to fire it up on full temp which will make pump faster or pull the fuel line from pump and suck a little till it's at the pump then it'll start up. Doesn't taste nice though, some people use a turkey baster to suck it through as well. Don't let it run dry once primed and you'll have no problem

Just having this problem myself - the heater ran out of fuel during the night and shutdown. Solved by removing power to the unit and then switching back on. Ok and Down Button together has given me H setting and the up button has now set the pump into priming mode.

it depends on the car and whats underneath where you need to get the pipes through, anywhere should be fine really as long as there's clearance to get the pipes through the floor
