Testing a relatively cheap Chinese diesel night heater from Ebay
I unbox and then demonstrate the heater
DISCLAIMER
This video is for entertainment purposes only. It is not a guide on how to set up this heater. I am in no way affiliated with the manufacturer or the seller of this item. Always follow your manufacturers instructions on how to set this up correctly, I am not responsible for your mistakes. I may even show in the video something which is assembled incorrectly.
What I will say though as I have seen other videos on KZfaq demonstrating this product with the exhaust on the inside of a building...PUT THE EXHAUST OUTSIDE!! Pumping exhaust gasses into an enclosed space without ventilation could be fatal.
I would also strongly advice having a carbon monoxide detector even though it technically shouldn't have any fumes from the fresh air outlet.
Thank you and enjoy

You can change from Hz to thermostat mode by going to the Hz setting and pressing the settings and up buttons at the same time. Then you can set desired temperature. The heater will lower fan rpm and use less fuel when that temperature is reached.

I got one for my 6x10 trailer 1.5 years ago. Works like a champ 👍. Issues I've had. I once tow my trailer while it's snowing and snow got into the air intake. So I had to open it up and clean the combustion chamber. I insolated my trailer so if I use it when outside is above 5C, the lowest heat out put will keep raising the temperature so I have to manually shut it off every 4-5 hrs. On the bright side, it has no issue keep inside temp 23C while outside is -30C. Very happy with the purchase. I got it for $250 Canadian. I don't mind buy 5 of this that will out last one webasto. I see years of good service with my current one.

@@tinieplanet9762 - I ended up getting one too and luv it as well . I'd say the fan on the unit isn't any louder than other heaters with fans. As for the fuel pump, it makes some noise but (I agree) that's easily solved by installing it outside the vehicle and away from the sleeping area and/or buying the aftermarket soundproof plastic cover that fits these pump. Extra light sleepers could probably add some sound roofing material if need be and then they'd likely not hear it running at all.

Fuel filter prob not defective, its need to be vertical to stop the air bubbles, your pump when installed need to be at an angle of 20-30 degrees, for folk that don't know once up to temperature these run almost silently. Good demo though mate, sorry if you already knew this 🤗

With the standard issue hard-sided nylon hose (prolly less than 2/16" inner diameter) the fuel pump injects or pulses fuel. With soft-sided larger volume fuel hose prolly 3/16"), the pump dribbles fuel out of the end. Likely to throw errors sooner or later. See John McKay videos for thorough testing and info. I recall Video #11 is about fuel delivery.

How weather resistant are they? I want to get one for my garage but don't want the unit inside. I want to put a T on the output and drill 2 holes one on either side of the garage and leave the whole unit outside. If I just made a overhang to keep direct rain off it would that be sufficient or would I need to build something to completely enclose it?

Thanks for posting. Looks like the beating sound that is heard is from the fuel pump? It looks like it starts at 5:30. Then around for awhile. Really hard to tell how noisy this would be. You set it on a metal cart that would be inherently noisy. Would have been more accurate to have on a wooden work bench or something similar. I'm betting isolating the fuel pump too would have helped. Also this a 2kw heater? I'm really new to these heater and will be doing my homework. I'm angling towards a cheap Chinese heater that is small. Something that would just take the chill out of the air in a mini van or a tent.

If you could wind the exhaust through a 55-gallon drum of water or old motor oil or whatever it'd be a great thermal mass for the evening. Get the shop good and warm and by then the drum of whatever would be warm enough to carry through the night. I recently bought a couple but still haven't fired one up yet :-/
@Brian_P
@Brian_P 5 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing.. but I was kinda thinking along the lines of taking it a step further and running coiled tube carrying the exhaust through a barrel then outside. Then run a line off the barrel with a low volume pump in line to a car radiator with a fan behind it then back to the top of the barrel. Bottom line is you wanna maximize the efficiency of the fuel being burned. You could offset the electricity cost with a small solar set up. Part of the fun of this is Frankensteining a system together to see what you get lol

Hi. Thanks for sharing. Do you know if this type of chinese diesel heater is thermostatically controlled? It seems to measure ambient temp, but is it actually used for anything? Can you choose temperature and let the controller control the fan and fuel pump? Thanks
@Lucentlens
@Lucentlens 2 жыл бұрын
On 'Temp' mode - you set the desired temperature, noting that the thermostat is in the LCD control unit itself - so you'd want it located somewhere where the temperature is a meaningful reflection of room/space temp. In this mode, the heater will only ever go from Max power to Min power, in response to read temperature - nothing in between. On 'Hertz' mode - this is basically 'full manual' control, & you're setting the heat output yourself - & the thermostat is ignored by the unit. I personally find the Hertz method better, especially as you can fine-tune it to the situation - as opposed to the all-or-nothing approach used by the heater when on Temperature mode.

Its a solenoid pump it runs at virtually no pressure it just pushes fuel to the burner its just a metering pump 1cc every 20 pumps . You can blow down the pipe to the burner with little resistance
