Sorry to all the other KZfaq recording/mixing/mastering/production artists out there, but this is what you need to aspire to. This is, without a doubt, the most helpful and well-explained channel on the subject there is. Forest, you da man brother. I always leave with something worthwhile stuck in my head. Props!!!

I appreciate this very much. What was your biggest takeaway?
@dubsbarry9963
@dubsbarry9963 Жыл бұрын
@@forestwhitehead My biggest takeaway.? Hmmm? Well it's not just one thing but more your style, genre, and accolades. I mean you're working in Nashville for crying out loud, with big names that I'm familiar with. That's for starters. As for this video, i like how you set things up for a bpm after the fact. You're not restrained to the bpm initially but figure it out after the rough draft is partially recorded. I like how you quantitize lightly to preserve humanism, record the foundational pad sound for the initial re-record, how you double tracks to broaden the sound, and add distortion to drums of all things. Honestly a lot of this stuff has probably been discussed in other channels' videos but with you I don't go into a trance and lose interest. I've been watching ever since you and another youtuber both produced a version of the same tune and yours really sounded like what i had been trying to accomplish. Overall, I think it's your way of not overexplaining everything. You're walking us through the steps but geared more towards a general overview. AND you're a multi instrumentalist. Ugh, I feel like I'm blabbering. I'll try to gather my thoughts a little better and get back, but for now, I sure hope you keep at it. You're really helping me out. Many thanks 🙏

Not only is this video amazing because of the way you show how you produce a new country pop tune from start to finish, but it is also the ONLY video I have found that shows how someone could use Kontakt and Native Instuments plug ins in a country production. Good stuff. Thank you!

It's your musicality that shines here... it's not about the plug-ins, but what is being played. this video will inspire people to create with REAL instruments. along with the DAW tools. very informative! great job thank you!

Wow. This was such an amazing production walk through! You REALLY showed the before and after; from bare bones to top end radio song. Amazing. You make it look do easy, man! Obviously that comes from years of going through the process. Thanks so much for putting this out! It also opened my eyes to what can be used for drums. Maybe that could be something I can invest in when I get hired for drums moving forward, if I am offering my services from home. I think there are a lot of questions I'd want to ask you when it comes to that.

Thanks so much for this, Forest. Your production videos are the best. Chockfull of content and to the point. I also love that you're using Studio One, my DAW of choice too. It's great to see your workflow as I tend to use something similar but have picked up so many tips and tricks from yours that helps to refine my own. As primarily a songwriter, my interest in music production was to produce the best sounding demos I could and when I get good enough, to produce and relase some of my own music. My favourite part of this video is that you've clearly laid it out in STEPS (and labelled it as such), so I'm able to create my own checklist from it. BTW I've been in some of your very, very early online workshops. Thank you so much for creating and sharing all your learning content online (and all your emails too). Hopefully the next time I'm in Nashville I can take you out for lunch or dinner. Wishing you much success in everything you do! 🙏

Only today I was saying to a friend that sooo many youtube production videos out there are all about creating "beats" for EDM and similar music etc and I was moaning about the lack of channels just like this, for songwriters who play guitar etc and dabble with midi. I enjoy Nathan James Larsen and 93 Acres and I loved your producer battle with Nathan James Larsen and what you did, hence why I'm here. I am NOT disappointed. Great walk-though in a DAW that I don't even use but your tutorial was magnificently educating, useful insightful and actually enjoyable start to finish. You have a wonderfully affable way of communicating and more people need to see this channel. I'd love you to produce a track for me. Will try and DM you. Thank you Forest.
