Or you can go to an independent European shop that has scan tool capabilities to reprogram and can do it less than the dealer.

Can this work with the xentry program? I went to the link you left in one of the comments, and saw how great a sale is going on. Before I buy, it says on the site that it can do 2016 vehicles too. Is there a difference on how to program these newer vehicles?

You need NCS software on your laptop so u can go to key memory and Activate Key to unlock and lock vehicle. U need to learn German to do this. I learned and I fixed my e90

It's a normal key, there's a physical decoding tool used to cut decode the lock structure and cut the key. Assuming you're talking about the blade.

@@moisesperez4659 Shop around. Every dealer will have different price, so prices will vary from state to state. They just pull prices out of their behinds in some locations. MSRP is suggested retail price but some dealers are very greedy and will set their price 3x or more above MSRP.

Or... buy a keyfob online cheap and take to a locksmith to program - should be between 100 and 200. Way cheaper than going to a dealership.

Locksmith can cut the key but they cannot program the fob. And the Mercedes dealer won't program any fob unless it's purchased from them. The dealer charges $484 for a fob for my GLK 350 and the cost to travel to the dealer for me would be an additional $600. 😢
