Thanks for making this. I love the build quality of the 2.0. It might be worth mentioning though that the chart provided on your website for download doesn't have a complete list of privacy codes on these radios. Where the chart ends at 38, the radio keeps going to privacy code 121. While the difference is made up in DCS codes, it might be handy to have that referenced in the chart, in the case for SAR, Sherriff's offices, and other first responders. Either way, this radio is a favorite for its design. I do wish it had a few other features in the firmware but it still gets the job done. Thank you.

I can’t seem to program anything. Even after factory reset, all the presets are stuck on weather mode. When I select a channel manually, the privacy code says IF5 and I can’t get it to do set to anything else. Did I get a defect?

one question- I have link 2.0 EU version, and it only has 8 channels with privacy codes- thats it. I can't go to channels above 8. Is that normal?

Hi, I was thinking about getting these for hunting. Can you turn off the beeping sound that beeps after the radio has been on for 2hrs?
@BackcountryAccess
@BackcountryAccess 3 жыл бұрын
It actually starts beeping only after one hour, but one hour of no interaction. The timer resets every time you push the push-the-talk button. And if it starts to beep after an hour, then all you have to do is push the button or turn it off and back on again. Then you’re good for another hour. Of course, it will never beep at you if you use it at least once an hour.

Problem with presets - I can't seem to set two letters to the same channel ... with different privacy codes. If I set C to channel 2 privacy code 24, and then set E to ch2 pc10 ... then when I flip BACK to preset C, it's still ch2, but now pc10 (when it should be 24). BC Link 1.0. Wassup?

I saw this same thing on two of the 1.0's. My 2.0 does not do this. Not sure why.

What is the approximate usable range?
@backcountryamateurradio
@backcountryamateurradio 2 жыл бұрын
That's going to depend on where you are out there. These radios will do best in a line-of-sight environment, like in the alpine. Even if your party is up on a ridge and you're down below the cliffs somewhere, these will still work really well. If you are on top of a mountain and talking to someone else on top of another mountain, a situation where the radios can "see" each other, the range will be phenomenal. If you're both in a forest you'd be lucky to get more than a couple of miles. With 4x more power (2 Watts) the Link 2.0 can overcome some of the obstructions between radios. Hope that helps.
