@@tsak912hat is absolutely the goal when using synthetic nutes especially. But as he is making a point of, you can get away with that last week of feeding and just give plain water. It’s exactly what I do and get perfect results everytime. Saves water, and a small amount of nutes. No need for the last week of mass amounts of water.

Most Excellent! Another well put together presentation with actual data to back up. I've been using Dr. Wedryk et al. from RXGreen and a few other papers for people to read over, but hey, who reads anymore? Now there is another 1st pick for me, as some might watch a video over reading dissertations and data summaries haha. Another great job bud. With slide links and lecture resource citations too! That deserves a Bill and Ted Air Guitar "Excellent!!!!" haha.

One of the conclusions of the study is that flushing produces no effect on the bud. I am curious, however, if it is still beneficial to the soil/plant itself in veg when you have nutrient buildup/pH issues. I’d appreciate any feedback.

@@pjarma8536 it may cause the weed to taste a lot like nutrients perhaps
@pjarma8536 Жыл бұрын
@@luisabreu2015 I discovered that flushing applies to the substrate not the plant. If re-using soil for a veg stage you need to flush all the bloom nutrients out. The plant helps this process you just need to reduce food in the last two weeks so that she pulls the excess out of the substrate leaving it ready for reuse. It doesn’t affect the plant at all.

Doesn't that just water down taste and smell? That it shouldn't need the flush unless your providing too much nutrients. Look at berries and apples of what happens with wet years. Like this year bumper crops and not as good of taste. Where the drier years yield smaller fruits with better taste. These can be seen in the brix. Does flushing dilute taste and smell along with brix levels? When is the best time to harvest for peak terps not peak thc?

Timing is key and it can be beneficial in some cases, but if you do not over fertilize it may be unnecessary.

I've always been told buds from flushed plants will burn more cleanly than non-flushed plants, i.e. less left over residue, more white ash. Truth/myth? Is this even desirable if so?
@DeBaccoUniversity2 жыл бұрын
This is more truth and myth and does produce a more desirable end product.
@twentytwo1382 жыл бұрын
Of course it's desirable. Unflushed buds burn with a black ash, sometimes the ash is hard and chunky or gritty like sand. It can sparkle and crackle while burning. The ash should be white/grey, soft and powdery, it should burn smooth. Taste and smell is better with flushed buds. Unflushed buds taste bitter and harsh, it burns the throat and the lungs. Even the high effect is not the same, because unflushed weed can cause headaches, nausea, dizzyness, numb mind, suppressing thoughts etc. You HAVE to flush even with organic nutrients. All of these organic nutrients on the market where meant for food, not for combustion. When you eat those nutrients it goes to your stomach and slowly degrades in your body over time, some of it gets released through bathroom, sweat etc. and generally it's not dangerous. But these nutrients are not meant for smoking, when you burn them they turn into different chemicals that the manufacturers haven't expected. They go directly to your lungs, bloodstream, heart and brain. This is even more toxic with chemical nutrients.

@DeBaccoUniversity2 жыл бұрын
Yes this is an interesting finding, flushing may have a chance at making a great difference if the grower was over feeding the plants leading up to the final flush. This is something commonly done in small operations which is why flushing may seem to have a greater impact on the final product on plants that have been over fed. You could always run a comparison yourself.
