How to Properly Install a Ground Sheet for Your US Military Pup Tent

Today I look at how to make a floor for your US Military Pup Tent from a cheap 8x6 tarp that I got for $5. Using a ground sheet is very important with these tents as they do not have any kind of floor that comes with them to protect your sleeping pads, sleeping bags, and keep you dry.

Nice, good to know that the 6x8 will fit 👍. I was going to do a similar project but I was going to add velcro on the tarp and inside the half shelter to make a complete enclosure. Thanks

I was taught to be very careful not to over extend your tarp foot print past your tent because of rain. Water would get under the tent if you did not roll the tarp to divert the water. It was better have the tarp undersized than oversized. It looks like your tarp will bring water inside your tent when it rains. I would rolled the edge of the tarp to the inside of your poles to prevent this.
