Black paint can be the hardest color to keep looking its best. We show you in this video how to remove the scratches, swirls, water spots and oxidation in the black paint to reveal that deep black shine. Watch as we walk you through the steps to bring back your black paint.
Easily remove stuck-on contamination, pollution, and things like tree sap or bug guts with a clay bar. Using a Light Clay Bar with plenty of Luber to prevent paint marring.
Swirls and scratches come from improper car care, and fading and discoloration come from harsh UV sunlight damaging paint. Restore pure gloss, shine, and reflection, and protect against future damage with Chemical Guys Slick Finish Cleaner Wax. The all-natural carnauba wax blended with diminishing abrasive technology removes swirls and scratches to restore a brand-new finish to any car, truck, motorcycle, or offroad 4x4 vehicle. Apply by hand or machine to restore a shiny finish with durable protection against the elements.

@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 5 жыл бұрын
Hey there! It isn't necessarily bad for the paint however a dirty duster can drag abrasive particles across the paint causing scratches and swirls. A quick detail spray and clean microfiber towel is a safe method of removing light dust. - Happy detailing!

What are the line on the backing plate for and how long does a all in one or cleaner wax typically last?
@ChemicalGuys

Hey Aaron, good question. The lines on backing plate were drawn in there to show the rotation of the pad. They are typically used for instructional purposes to show that when pressed too hard, a DA stops spinning. Thanks for watching and being a loyal subscriber, Aaron!

Another good video on the procedures to take to get a good result. I believe there was one step left out, and that was prepping the car after the claying and before the one step polish, so you remove road film, oils and grease that claying does not always remove along with the clay lube solution, so you are left with a clean uncontaminated surface for the polish to bond to.
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi! After claying your car, you can go right into polishing. There is no need to further prep the surface. When done properly, claying will remove everything on the surface of your paint. After claying, if you are finding that the surface is not a totally clean and a mirror finish, then you are either not washing your car properly before, or not claying long enough. You can always use a car wash soap like Clean Slate to ensure everything, including old waxes and sealants, are removed from the surface before claying, or you can use something like Wipe Out to ensure all that stuff is removed from the surface before claying. Once you're claying, you should continue claying until your surface is perfectly smooth with a mirror like finish. Claying takes longer than you might think. It's also important to choose the proper clay bar for your situation. Using a Light Clay Bar on a super contaminated car that hasn't been clayed in the past 10 years probably isn't going to get all that deeply embedded contamination out. When done properly, you can go straight into polishing after claying. Thanks for watching,and stay tuned for a new video dropping tomorrow!

how do you know when you need to do a 1 step or multi step paint correction ?
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Lex, that's a great question that totally depends on your car, and you. One step polishes offer a more specific level of correction, while multi step paint corrections offer you unmatched versatility. A product like Cleaner Wax is great for removing light swirls, stains, and imperfections from your paint, however if your scratches were deeper, then you might need to take a more aggressive approach with one of the compounds from the V Line series. It also depends on you and what you are looking for. Are you looking for a one step product that is going to polish and wax your car at the same time? Or do you plan on applying a separate wax afterwards so you don't need a hybrid product? Thanks for watching and make sure to check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for new video uploads!

Is swift wipe or EcoSmart better for spot washing parts of the car between regular washes
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, both these waterless washes work equally well to clean your car. The real difference between the two is one contains wax, and the other, sealant. It really comes down to personal preference and what kind of protection you are looking to lay down on your car. If you are looking to maintain your wax coat, then go with EcoSmart. If you are looking to maintain your sealant coat, you might want to consider Swift Wipe. The other main difference is that EcoSmart is available in hyper concentrated form, whereas Swift Wipe is only available in ready to use form. Remember, both products are complete car washes in a bottle; it IS a "regular" car wash! Thanks for watching and happy detailing!

what can i do to keep dust from sticking to my paint?
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Braulio, that's a great question. Try using an anti-static product on your paint such as Extreme Slick Synthetic Quick Detailer. Anti-static acrylic wetting agents reduce static charge up to 75% as the product is buffed and dried, cutting down on static cling of airborne dust and dirt. Wet Mirror Finish also reduces static charge on the surface, allowing for maximum repellency of dirt. You can check them out below! @ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gabe, how's it going? In this video, Nick used Slick Finish, which is a cleaner wax that contains some micro abrasives to cleanse the paint and remove light swirls, stains, and imperfections. All in One is a hybrid polish that polishes and then seals your car. It does not contain any wax. All in One is also more abrasive than Slick Finish Wax and would be able to remove more deeper imperfections. Thanks for watching, Gabe, and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family!

"highest speed" 6?
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul! The Digital Display on the TORQ uses shorthand to display the actual OPM speed at which the buffer head is spinning. After 00, the six speed settings of the machine spin at: 1) 15 - 1,500 OPM 2) 20 - 2,000 OPM 3) 25 - 2,500 OPM 4) 30 - 3,000 OPM 5) 35 - 3,500 OPM 6) 40 - 4,000 OPM. When the detailer in the video refers to speed setting 6, he means 6 + clicks, or 40 on the digital display. They are the same speed.Thanks for watching, Paul, and stay tuned for a new video launching later today!

Andrew Lorenz .... either works I guess, just curious why not a v38 finish polish
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi! If we had gone with the V Line series, we would have started with V36 and an orange pad. V38 is a final polish and has almost no cut, so it wouldn't have made a significant difference in the scratching and swirling on the Viper's paint. V36 and an orange pad is our go-to combo when starting on any car. Had V36 provided satisfactory results, then we would have proceeded to V38. Had V36 not removed as many scratches and swirls as we would've liked, then we would have started exploring different, more aggressive options until the desires results were achieved. I am going to leave a link below to an article that explains how the V Line series of polishes works. As you will see, V38 works best as a final polish and is almost never used alone. Thanks for your question and thanks for being a part of the CG family! Really cool C7 you have there! 👊 www.chemicalguys.com/How_To_Choose_The_Right_Compound_Or_Polish_For_Your_Car_s/644.htm

Chemical Guys "one-step polish" process: 1) use Swift Wipe Waterless Car Wash (or just wash the vehicle) 2) clay bar the paint 3) use Slick Finish Cleaner Wax with a dual action polisher a) spread the product with the polisher on setting 1 b) diminish flaws (perform the polish) on the maximum setting
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, you're right: it's called a one-step polish, not a one-step detail. There is no such thing as a one step detail and there never will be! A product like Slick Finish or All in One can, however, reduce a multi step polish to just one step. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back later today for a new video upload!

Chris Alvarez how am I comparing? I said that ceramic is better... plus with a polish you need a wax. And wax is like gum it allows dirt and grime to stick. Ceramic is like a clear coat of glass. Totally different than “comparing”. I have a feeling you’ve never even detailed a car in your life. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you buy a new vehicle, it could work. If you buy a used one with scratches on it, or own one with scratches before you apply the ceramic coating, then you’ll want to remove as much defects as possible.
