@berrykoo812 Natural oils? It's called sebum. If you already decided to wash your face with cleanser you should do it properly, as she said, and not just mix dirt on your face. And skin wouldn't be dry if use proper moisturizer after washing it. That way your skin wouldn't produce much sebum. You should wash your fave properly, especially if you have acne, to get rid of bacteria on the surface of your face.
@berrykoo8127 ай бұрын
@@meganyamk172 I do wish my face properly? That's why I'm giving my advice as someone with sensitive and acne prone skin. Over cleansing can irritate your skin if not careful, there's really no need to wash for more than 30 seconds. If your face is still filled with bacteria after washing for 30 seconds that sounds like a you problem
@xlanakeix7 ай бұрын
I've actually heard derms (I think Dr. Dray in particular) say emulsifying your cleanser doesn't necessarily do anything to improve the performance of your cleanser (may be better for some cleansers than others), and it actually may just be a waste of your time and money (or even decreasing the power of ur product)!! And, you only really need to have your cleanser on your face for 20 seconds minimum for the cleansers benefits. This may be better for people with more sensitive or dry skin to prevent drying/stripping/harming moisture barrier. Edit: Not one particular method fits everyone, so of course do what you think works for you, absolutely! Nothing is one size fits all, and it's great to experiement and tweak your routine. It is important to consider that just because professionals haven't done studies (or done enough) out there on a particular method (that you might be doing), doesn't mean a method doesn't work, though it is equally important to consider all of the studies and proof that has come about for certain methods/ingredients etc. Do what works for you and may what is learned be a guide :)

This person also has pretty dry skin, and one of her close friends is a dermatologist. While obviously not from a medical professional, I will say that the same advice, at least the one about working the cleanser on your face for 60 seconds, has been said by multiple beauty experts/gurus, and it works well for me when I put in the effort (I have combo skin, so it can get both too dry and too oily with the wrong methods). If it helps you can spend half that time at your nose and T zone, since that’s where sebum is most likely to collect and where there may be blackheads that aren’t obvious. Most people don’t spend a ton of time cleaning the nose, which is already a difficult area to cleanse throughly.

For acne prone skin people: Clean your face twice for a more pleasant feeling. I normally go with a foaming cleanser first (make a foaming texture and apply to the skin for 1min) and a gentle cleanser after (repeat the first step). Rinse it off and use kitchen tissue to dry your face. And as an acne prone skin I normally use kitchen tissue they’re a lot more gentle to the skin and they are one use only and you can throw it away so it doesn’t create any bacteria and create more acne. I noticed when I used towels it made it worse regardless of me changing them frequently. You can use these tips and let me know if it helped. (Yes I have tried it and it worked for me)

This is a nice routine, but you really should be cleansing your face especially if you are using an exfoliater! I use water in the mornings since I have dry skin and cant cleanse twice a day without getting crusty lol but the water isnt removing enough of dirt/bacteria on its own so I only moisturize. What ur doing with the exfoliater is disturbing your skin barrier which isnt a bad thing (since you moisturize after!) BUT if you still have nasty stuff on your face it may cause acne or dryness down the road. If you seem to have perfect skin, curse you men with your flawless faces, then its probably not something to worry about right now. Likely your genetics makes your skin barrier much stronger than others so its not needed, but this does change with age! So, keep it in mind for when you are older ❤

And I like to use Vaseline after the cerave to trap in the moisture, especially around my eyes, since black people swear by it and they always have the most youthful looking skin when they get older. But for some people Vaseline gives them milia. It shouldn’t give you acne AS LONG AS you have properly cleaned your skin like in this video, as it can trap dirt and impurities inside. But it’s noncomedogenic so it does not clog pores. I just love it for dry skin. Or vitamin E oil which is another thing many black people use, of course I’m gonna take tips from people with the best looking skin when they’re older lol.
