Another good tip is to say the last few words of the line before the punched bars, so then you can just cut those words and it rides together flawless. If it don't, you can keep the original words and have the punched bars to play with as well. Helps blend your voice when punching in 👊 👌

Yooo the mic u using is good for punching in and out???? Far as capturing the tone. I recorded on a shure 7b and when doing punches I didn't hear a lot of difference between line. Which is a good thing but i wanted to use a condenser mic instead of dynamic .

Quick punch mode helps if you want to record in the pre and post roll parts this way your punch in times can be off and your still fine.

Hei Jordxn thanks for the video, one question: I don't have pro tools (I use Ableton) and one issue I have is that when moving a clip I just recorded on the "Record Track" to "Vox 1", the "take lanes" or "playlists" (as Pro tools calls them), useful for comping, are not following the clip, but stay on the "Record track". At least in Ableton. I just wanted to know if that is the same in pro tools or not. IN SHORT / TD DR: Does moving a clip move also all the "takes" associated with it? Thanks

sometimes when i punch in, it doesn’t sound like it’s the same tone or the same melody and the volume is different. So i have to do it over and over again until i nail it. Could be a bit frustrating tho.

That’s what you have to practice on. It’s all about learning how to control your voice. The more you experiment the easier over time it becomes

That’s even more important for R&B it’s the control but what id recommend for you is to vocal comp takes vs punch in

If that’s happening at least with my experience it’s probably because you don’t have the same plug-in settings on all your tracks or maybe you have your plug-in settings on your record track and not your actual vox tracks

Punch in a bar or two before you need to, so you can blend the voices together but it's mainly what you put out. Have to blend your vocal tone with the one laid down. Hope this helps! 🙏
