Wish this video came in sooner but I passed my AM2S last week yay! The double set has to go into a central heating centre and must be central above the DB, the set I had to make was much lower than the one in this video but I’m sure all training centres are different slightly. Thanks for the video this will help a lot of students out there for sure !

Not sure how it would fair in the AM2S, but for anyone else. A tip for the last cut. If you can get the distance from the end of the coupler. To the back end of your 90 bend, cut it at that + 15mm Thread it so the end of your conduit is level with the first line of the nut of your stock and dye set (see 12:43 in the video, he’s done it) that threads the conduit to exactly 15mm (30mm on the 2nd line) Every time, or atleast it has done every time for me since I’ve been using that method after I was shown it on site 4 years ago

I've never had a bender in my LIFE that starts at the very edge of the former. It's always a little ways in and to make sure it's repeatable. You mark the ACTUAL start by cutting the edge of the former. I had a brand new bender one time so I cut a mark where it actually starts to bend too help everyone else out 🙂

I’ve got my AM2s in July just refreshing myself on steel comduit. I’ve seen differing information though about the AM2s and what you need to do for the steel conduit section. I’ve heard just a double set and 90 bend like in this video but also the above and a running coupler. Does anyone know if the running coupler is actually a requirement for the a AM2s steel conduit section. Thanks

Flush either side but got the result back and I passed plastic and failed metal 😂 appealed it (knowing/them tell me getting a pass is almost impossible at that stage) but got the email to say that my appeal was successful! 🎉🎉🎉

Go buy one and start bending ! Here in NZ the 90deg bends are cheap as chips so I no longer use a spring. Also here there is very little metal conduit along with metal flush boxes. Measure twice cut once is the key.
@darkdepth1991
@darkdepth1991 2 жыл бұрын
@@markkennard861 I am from the Netherlands 😎 We use different installation systems here like the "central box system" (You go from your circuit breaker to a central box ( lighting point ) and from there to your switches and sockets or next central box. The circuit type is called radial in the UK). For Cables and wires we use plastic conduct and we use a spring to bend our conduct, use fixed bends or flexible conduct But eFIXX has so many good technical videos. It doesn't matter where you from, they will always share something that can be used in any type of installation.

Absolutely beautiful!!! I don’t do much conduit, but practicing at work when team leader not about 😉, 1 question though do you not require a lock ring at rear of coupler or is it not required as the coupler is “locked up against male thread and brass bush”??????

As always a great tutorial on UK conduit skills. Well done guys. Though I would use a 1/2” (13mm) brush for the cutting paste, less messy and wasteful when hand threading. Also a reamer and magnetic welders square, though these probably wouldn’t be available on an assessment for AM2. Just a thought 👊😎👍💙

What I don’t a understand from 1000mm how much pipe it’s going to be left as I have tried training something I am losing 110mm sometimes 150mm sometimes 50mm I don’t know why .😅😅😅 just learning .
