Glad I could help. I never played football till high school and when I did, my parents didn't know much about it either. I had baseball gloves and lineman cleats, and with huge running back shoulder pads. I had no idea there was a difference....and my coaches didn't tell me either.

The layers are what's important. You need a base layer no matter what. But your base layer in August is obviously different that your base layer on December.

Base layer is whatever you use as your base. Ideally it should be sweat wicking. Whether its fitted or compression is personal preference. Watch my compression wear vids in my compression playlist to see why I think compression is best.

I know the video is old but for anyone who might see this: If you need two pairs of socks to get the lacing on your shoes tight enough that your feet don't slip during play you have bought shoes that are to big. If so I would recommend going down a half size or maybe even a full size depending on how tight you like the shoes to fit.

adtr4life Yes they do. They are required equipment. They pull them up over their knees though. They still have them, they are just pulled up over the knee.

That is totally stupid you can get hurt just as bad with out knee pads the only thing that they help with is when your hitting the ground or somebody with your knee but if you hurt your knee it's most likely not because of that

BrixForce wait till your 16. According to doctors girls brains are super susceptible to injury before the age of 16 and boys before the age of 14. I would recommend tackle football before those ages under any circumstances.
