OMG thank you so very much..... I've tried everything....I didn't even know what DFU meant. I've searched everywhere for help in getting my iPhone back out of recovery mode. I HIGHLY recommend that everyone sync's their iPhone once a week....luckily I JUST did it for the first time last week and this week my phone crashed. u r GOD. every time i would try to put it in DFU mode i thought i was supposed to c the usb icon with the apple logo. but when i connected to my pc and followed your timing, it just connected in DFU without any indications on the screen. THANKS a lot

This worked really well. Couldn't get the old 3G working till I saw this video.

I couldn't figure this out for the life of me until I watched this video! Then I saw him wait an extra second after the screen went black before releasing the power button. I tried it, and it worked great!

You rock! After a lot of fiddling around, after watching this vid I did it in one try. Seems that especially the waiting period before releasing the power button is very critical. 6 stars

i just download the ipod touch 2.0 software and it kept coming up with error 1611, but when i put it in to DFU mode it worked. THANK YOU!!!!

just reconnect your ipod to itunes and but it in dfu mode,and then you can custom restore,if its not in dfu mode you will get that 1602 or 06 error

5 stars my friend, as you said after on the itunes it shows that its in recovery mode, i restored my iphone. After when i swiched on my iphone it was not in the DFU mode instead of that all my contacts only deleted. It ll be thankful, what do i need to do after seeing the message on the i tunes that iphone is in recovery mode

My Iphone was deactivated so I could only call emergency numbers, did as this vid shows and now I have to reset the iPhone so all apps, all contacts, all music is gone. My iPhone is a 3GS, so pretty old.
