You recommended Isacord Thread some time ago. I purchased the ice blue color like you had. This is the best thread I have EVER used - my machine loves it. I do a lot of pastels and that ice blue color looks beautiful on my pastels. Hats off to you, Leah. 😍😍

Wonderful! I've been using Isacord for around 12 years now and it's still my favorite!

I have not been quilting that long, and just on my domestic machine. It's really great to get a real picture of what it's like to try to learn new skills on a long-arm! Thanks!!

Hello My Quilting Friend! I was so excited to see your Saturday Quilting Videos get started. With the first one, I told you that I had ordered my Qnique 14+ I then searched for a home for it. Guess what I found - yep - all roads lead to Leah Day! Santa brought my Quilty Shed and my husband & good friend have been busy getting it ready. I find that my decisions often mirror yours, intentional or not! Its funny because my decision to get the Qnique was my own - I just never could get the knack of FMQ on my home machines. I took lessons at my local quilt shop & liked quilting on a frame (pantographs) and I’m looking forward to doing FMQ & ruler work also! I’m hoping that I will have less trouble learning FMQ on the Qnique since I don’t have to unlearn home machine techniques. Know that your fans LOVE to see you blazing the Quilting Trail for us!! It gives us the courage to try it for ourselves.

Wow! That is excellent that you're getting your own special space to quilt and a nice machine! That's wonderful! I'm so glad I was here for you on this journey. I thought about it for years and finally had to pursue my curiosity. It's so much fun learning something new!

Wow, that's beautiful! That's my favorite quilting pattern I've seen so far. Thank you for explaining so thoroughly. You really take away A LOT of the anxiety and fear I have about screwing up my quilt. I really need to learn to just calm down and stop over analyzing every single tiny aspect of quilting, all that does is prevent me from even trying. Thank you, you are so unbelievably helpful!

Love the video Leah. I liked seeing the design on plain fabric and on a real quilt. It really helped me understand how I could use the design as well as how to do it.

You are so kind sharing these. I struggle too and it is amazing to see that you do and just deal with it as a learning curve..... and I need to go slow, very slow!

Yes, slow down and be kind to yourself. I'm making ugly quilts right now and I just have to trust that they will look better eventually. Until then, the cats are going to have lots of things to cuddle up in!

I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing it. I got the very same machine on the same frame a couple of months ago. My FMQ on my domestic is decent and I did not expect so much of a learning curve with this machine. I’m enjoying it and my echos and travel stitches are getting better slowly.

It's always a learning process. No matter what type of machine you quilt on, it's always going to have a learning curve. Stick with it and give yourself plenty of space to make mistakes!

I finally found a place to rent a long arm. Now I just have to get around to making time to go. I currently have a couch quilt on my regular machine that is my second quilt I'm free motion quilting. I'd love a long arm but renting time will be the best I can get for a while

Take a day and do it! It is really different from quilting on a home machine, but much faster in many ways. I'm looking at my stacks of quilt tops and I know they're going to be seriously reduced by the end of the year!

One thing that really helps is to just move faster. Trust yourself and keep elbows by your sides - gives you more control.

Love your views on quilting you inspired me to free motion. I don't think you liked the sit down long arm, like the long arm you've worked on now. It's so nice you're showing both way.
@LeahDay

Thank you Joseph. Yes, I did like the Qnique set up as a sit down, but using it on a frame like this is just a totally different way to quilt. It does feel a lot easier (if a little out of control)!

Sometimes I think the hardest part is admitting you want something. Once you make up your mind you're going to get it, it's just a matter of finding out the how and where and what you're going to do to make it happen.

Yep! That's a little leather organizer I made to hold all my gadgets right next to my machine. You can see a short little video on it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZ-lidij29nJkYE.html
