Amazing video! Very helpful for a layman like me. I just saw your lighting at the end of video and realized that mine are about twice as bright. Would that harm my plants? What should be the ideal lux to avoid leggy seedlings and have refreshing green foliage?

Always bringing the knowledge. Thanks and kudos for updating your opinion on having water to the brim vs having that air pocket. Quesiton- why dont you wet your perlite/vermiculite mix prior to adding your seeds? I would pour my mix in a bucket, wet it throughout and then add to the propagator. Uses less water? But I may be missing an important piece, so keen to hear your opinion on this

The vermiculite can’t be disturbed once wet.

Do you start your seedlings germinating in the dark and when do you move them into light?

Do you have to use a liquid nutrient solution for this or can a soluble version like master blend be used? Masterblend, epsom salt, and I think calcium?

Have you assessed the risk of the potential for asbestos in your vermiculite? I would be very reluctant to handle vermiculite inside my living space and would probably opt not to bring it onto my property at all because of that. Just my 2 cents.

Hi! Your videos are great! Is there a reason for not using nutrient solution since the beginning? Is it because of algae? I want to include a tray for seedlings into my ebb and flow hydroponics system, but I was wondering if I could use the same water reservoir and solution for both seedlings and full grown plants. Thank you very much! 🌱

The seed contains nutrients for the seedling to start and you should NOT be using a nutrient solution at the start, and if, a very, very weak solution, so the jump from zero EC to full blown nutrient solution isnt so big.

hey great stuff as usual. how many days in the seedling tray before you transplant to the puck propagator? and whats your photoperiod? 16/8? thanks!

21 days. But they were probably left a little long... Either 16/8 or 18/6 if you’re in a hurry...

on the black “hoochinator” tub is it neccessary to have the clear domes on it?

Depends on the environment, if I had it outside I would have the domes on. But in my growing environment I keep the humidity and temperature constant so I don’t need them.
