Great video, you guys work well together! Immigrants seem to always focus on education. The sad thing is that Americans seem to focus on sports, and wonder why we have so many immigrants as doctors and engineers. Thanks for the inspiration!

My child is grown, but I hope new mothers or mothers-to-be get the chance to see this. I will share this every chance I get. A lot of young single mothers, especially low-income ones, need this information. They are stressed and don't know how crucial successful child rearing is. I've seen some bad parenting while riding the subway. Once I heard a young mother using profanity towards her toddler, because the toddler wanted to use the restroom, and the mother thought she should have gone before they left home. The other was of a young mother hitting her toddler, because the child dropped her feeding bottle. I live in the city and I see a lot.

You two are smart thoughtful parent, it helped a lot. Parenting requires some form of planning, observing and experiments, most parent feel kids are too young to talk to but no even a baby is smart and observant. Thanks for this video it will surely help a lot.

Good job kenton & Habiba!! More wisdom to both of you and your wonderful kids. Based on 3 of your videos that I have watched , I must say that your kids are of good examples of what both of you are sharing here. Your kids are well mannered, hardworking, doing their house chores happily and academically excelling. It's happening this way because you both constructed their mindset towards this way. Keep it up👍👍 We are the architect of our children's future base on how we are raising them. I believe you 100% and this is how my husband and I have been training our 3 kids, both academically and in house chores. We live in Canada and our 11yrs old daughter cooks good food base on training😁 I only came across your channel 3 days ago. It's been interesting so far.

Hi Habiba Thanks for this brilliant video. I'm a huge fan of yours & feel as though I know you because I studied at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria enroute to Sokoto were you spent 11 years of your life. A close friend of mine at University knows you because she went to FGC Sokoto in the period you were there. Small world! Just reading up your blog on Yucca gave me an idea of another way to enjoy cassava apart from the way its eaten in Nigeria. I live in England & have made an effort to maintain variety in our family diet by embracing the diversity from the cuisines of the various cultures I've come to associate with here (of course including mine). I love any adventure with food.. Your cooking reminds me a lot about mine. I always believe that I'm a good enough cook to replicate anything I eat outside at home & give it my own twist. I just have a few corrections to make about your facts regarding Yucca. It's from the first hand experience & knowledge of growing up inn Eastern Nigeria where its cultivated & widely consumed. The facts are: 1. There are two species- red & white (recognisable from the colour of the leaf stalks & veins running through the palmate leaves) 2. The White specie contains deadly cyanide & is extremely poisonous if consumed without processing (usually fermentation) which totally neutralises the poison. That's why one of the stages of producing Gari involves fermentation where the finely ground yucca is tied in bag & leftt to ferment for 3 daysafter all its juice has been expressed using hydraulic jacks. It is dry fried to cook & eliminate moisture after that. Absence of moisture increases the shelf life of Gari. 3. The red specie is what you see in grocery stores in the West because they are grown for immediate consumption without the need for processing. Most growers in countries where Yucca is a staple know the difference & grow the two species miles apart. Just thought I'd flag this up so people are not afraid of trying yucca! The key to safe consumption is to determine that your yucca is red & not white. A transverse slice across a yucca tuber with the skin on ; will show a pinky streak next close to the white flesh if you want to be sure you've got the red specie. Hope this helps.

I can relate to what you said about setting high standards, I went to my son's teacher to ask why my son never bring homework home? And she said they don't want to scare them from school because they are so busy in school, so they need them to rest when they get home. Total rubbish as far as am concern.

Homework from school has a positive and negative effect on children. It depends on the parents. Some parents beat, bullied, berate their children to do the homework or when doing the homework.

Train up a child in a way that he or she should go and when he or she is old,he/she will not depart from it. I agreed a little spanking is nt bad. Thats hw I was brought up.My dad would spank me and then later sat me on his lap and explain to me the reason why he had to spank me is because he loves me and doesnt want me to do that again. And he would recite the above bible verse to me...Nw that Im older,I appreciate my dad so much. Nb:In the Pacific Islands our parents spank their children and we dont consieder it as abuse. Girls learn hw to weave mats and baskets and even start to do simple house chores as young as 5 years up.Likewise boys. We are also told to be respectful to our elders and older people.Talking bck is nt allowed or we would be spank. Its considered as disrespectful. I love you guys and your parenting..

Educational TV like some of the educational cartoons or shows like Sesame street are fine for short intervals but should not substitute real books or time spent interacting with you the parent or with other kids developing social skills and reading skills. Thank you so much for watching!

Why do you put so much emphasis on college education in your videos? Shouldn’t you be pushing them to learn how to open businesses and be successful creating their own jobs rather than working for someone else?
