Blows my mind how some people (solo or even big companies) undercharge in 2021. God bless them but charging less than average while everything else is going up (gas, equipment, maintenance, mechanics, trucks, supplies) makes no sense at all. I'm saying this while I'm busier than ever with prices a bit above average for the area so I'm not salty or hating. Wrapping my truck helped a lot with getting people noticing me while on the job site. Definitely worth it. Same with being presentable. Business shirts etc

Got rid of 2 “problem lawns” and had added in 4 new lawns that are next door neighbors to existing customers. Net gain with a few negative jobs gone! The universe has cared for me in my neighborhood business all these years, stay honest, always do your best, treat others as you want to be treated. My competitors set the wage scale for me with their 4 man crews it makes my rates easy to raise even though I prefer to offer my community an option between the guy with a lawn mower in his trunk and the mega lawn crews....I price as I regard fair. As with all business it is a must to learn your market, if you are gaining new customers every year that is a sign your ok.

Good talk Keith I needed to hear this today. I just lost a customer of 4 years because I tried to raise the price two dollars to my minimum I've had for three years..$40. Guys car is worth the price of my house 😆 I have 6 others in the neighborhood but I realized he is the only customer I had that doesn't tip.. no looking back! I'm actually working myself out if this industry 🙃, I need to find bigger and better things, I've done the math and my customers make in a day what takes me a month. Next time I see you at tower I'll have to stop you and say hi, you still going there? Their prices jacked up a year or two ago I've been looking for a new place

Raising my prices starting next month for lawn service. I also recently made the decision to only take on clients that want their landscape included in the maintenance plan in effort to to get better quality clients. It’s been going very well! You have helped me immensely realizing what my prices should be. I used to always be scared to overprice and be laughed at, mostly because down here in central Florida you have a lot of guys doing this for dirt cheap.

Customers that hear a job price are more than likely to accept it than hearing I charge 500$/hr. These are large trimming jobs with debris removal. I have the luxury to walk away from hourly rated jobs if the customer demands it. I say I’m sorry and move on. Plenty of work out there!!!😃. Hope this helps or even makes sense. 6 mile radius is great. I have a triangle rather than a circle. 12 miles wide. About 6 miles down. It's helped get my route much more dense and profitable. But I just moved out of it so now I drive to it but it still works great since I have built it up to where it is. Harder to expand mowing equipment than landscaping but it's easier on the back and consistent.

I added 37 customers in Troy and Rochester in 3 weeks this year from people switching services because their current company raised their prices ONLY!! They were completely happy, except the price went too high. The biggest issue is a company's ego, thinking that what they do is special lolo EVERY landscaper thinks he's the best or worth more than he's charging lolo it's hilarious.. scaling a landscape or maintenance company is so basic a monkey can scale at 100k a year every year.. if you're not, it's either that your too greedy, or micro managing yourself into job not into entrepreneurship.

Last year I spread 100000 pounds of stone in a day in half. I litterally spent the first day delivering the stone because it was in a campground and couldn't fit large semis. I did in 6 trips with my 2014 ram Dump body. One load weighd just under or over 20000 pounds. I had the tow and haul on and the Jake brake plus the manual tip tronic engaged the entire time. That's the only time I ever seen the bump stops completely squished like bubble gum.

Hey I got this guy who brags how he made more $$ in 2 years then my compition bull God landscaping. Made in his whole career. I'm kinda imbarrased about this but I did a spring clean up and a partial spiral thin on his 100 ft plus tall pine tree. For $350. This tree was so thick I couldn't even get my 12ft 2 in 1 steel core land yard around the trunk for the first 40 ft. I had to repell down and limb walk to remove one large branch in sections because it was over 12" in diameter and it was over hanging rt 122 Wich is a state highway. So I carefully did a couple controlled fold cuts. Needless to say we worked till dark. Because we didn't start till 2:00 because we processed and delivered 2 cord's of hardwood before that. if your still reading this I wanna know how much a yard for mulch should I charge this year? I live in Massachusetts. Also how much should I be charging for edging. Because he wants mulch and edging done. I said $3 per linier ft. For a nice 6" deep edge. I always get compliments for my edging. Now this guy drives a brand-new Mercedes AMG. Plus an SUV Mercedes. Well he thought $3 per linear foot was Too expensive. Should I not take this customer on as a client. IDK he said he can get me tons of work. But we both know you can't just have tons of work. Without tons of $$because before I started watching your videos. I would work from 9am till 10pm 6 to 7 days a week and I thought I was doing okay because I was making 800 to 1200 a week after expenses paid. But that's what would've made when I washed working at my regular job before with that many hours. Hey also I pdid a four acre land clearing job loaded with bittersweet Vines and multifloral pricker bushes for $4,500. I made $1,000 profit after paying employees and supplies and rental fees. I felt like an idiot when I watched your video which looks like a similar property which you said went for about fifteen thousand. So yeah I should have made about a $10,000 profit on that job. Actually I tell customers to watch some of your videos what mulch in landscaping goes for when they expect me to do a spring or fall cleanup for$100/ mulch for $50 a yard. Or someone expects me to cut a huge ass tree down for a 600 bucks. But the bottom line is some customers just don't give a s***they live in their million-dollar homes drive their hundred thousand-dollar cars and want to pay $100 for a spring or fall cleanup. I know you've dealt with all this s*** before.

Get organized is all I can think man. Charge double for all materials 🤷🏽‍♂️ helps with the effort to get them.
