One of the most important jobs we have as parents is to help our children develop social skills, show them how to interact in a polite manner with people, and teach them to treat others with respect.
Faith Nabaggala, an Image and Etiquette Coach joins us to tell us the little signs that could help you identify that your child is actually a well mannered as you think they are.
Do you think kids these days are better behaved than us back in the day? Let us know what you think!

The way I came here with kasigiri and how soon it dawned on me that the children's etiquette problem started with me. So I went and told my kids there is a new rule for them and I in the house: from now one if u want to talk to someone, u go where they are and talk to them while looking at them. (9year old didn't skip a beat clarifying if this rule applied to ALL of us. LoL) Anyway this came about just after 5year old called out to me while I was in the kitchen "mummy, can u please come and close this bedroom window?" He said please - but he shouted from another room. Sooo me! And I wouldn't even have added the please 🙈 Just the instruction. Anyway thanks Bump Love, I have been schooled!

This is interesting, my almost 3yr old says, thank you, am sorry, or even sorry when she's in wrong but eh eh.. We are having trouble with "May I have.."... Banange the girl can want .... Everytime, mummy I want this, Janat I want water hooo.... We are still trying our best... This just reminded me of an incident on Sunday banange... One of our neighbors got out and didn't greet her... She immediately told the neighbors niece " Patience, aunt didn't say good morning to me"🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔.... You people, the lady heard her, came back and greeted her bulungi... Anyway, she's so up there with greeting everyone hehe....

I stayed with my niece and noticed she wasn't polite or asked anything kindly. I started telling her on how to use all these polite words. Then I realized that am also not always polite. It hit me different and made me look at teaching her differently. Manuella's examples , so relatable.

I think wee know wen our kids r bad....if they shout at people ....wont u realise its wrong.....we juat choose to live in selfdenial......most parents r okay with raise bad kids because the children are speaking their language.........we as parents literally pass on personality... So befo we think of kids....lets get to know how we can have good manners as parents......i stand to be corrected

I personally learnt Etiquette from the schools I went to and my work spaces and career because I interact with people. These points are key we see many adults with bad etiquette. It's important even exposure add to this

Such a timely conversation for me. Just last night I lost it hearing how my little brother was talking to my Dad. I thought, where did he learn this!? I wasn't raised like this and I think parents probably just get too relaxed with the last kids. I will definitely share this episode with them. Side note: Your set is so beautiful ladies! Thanks for the insight, as always.

Wow, thank you for this insightful show...I have a 2 and a half year old who is so aggressive .as in if you try to correct his wrong deeds, he just starts slapping you instead. I don't you whether there is a right age to instill these etiquette. But he can now apply "sorry and thank you.

Teaching our children their culture: Speak to a mother that married a man from a different culture. Imagine a muganda woman married to an acholi man. How best can this woman ensure that her children speak their father's language and learn their cultural norms. Secondly, how can an Alur woman married to an alur man who does not know their language and culture ( both man and woman don't know their language and culture) help their children speak their language and learn their culture. Thank You Ladies.
