I would like to add that it can you give an edge sending a company profile along with the project proposal. I recommend this advice only for medium to big projects. It can make you stand out from the rest of the competitors.

I think if you explained your logic for a higher price and its something the client was looking for, they would have been okay because not the other previous client they provide as an example had a different set of requirements that were cheaper.

That was actually helpful. In my case, I am mostly " forced " to charge about 50 to 100, even though my work worths about 500 or even 1000 at times, like after 3 years, I'm confident enough that what I make is relatively professional and good but I can't charge more then I would lose most of my clients and I would go out of money xD

Same. I charged a guy 60 dollars but well after him trying to get it low, and not loosing the client in the process, i agreed on 50. What he want is an illustration for a jam packaging. Than use that same illustration as a logo. Something inside me feels sad that i went too low but well these are desperate times with corona and everything

You are not forced. You just need to market yourself better and to different clients.

I think if you keep making amazing work and posting it up even if you're not getting hired people that really like it will pay your rates. You just need to have a cushion to fall on for slower days so that way you are not pressured to lower your prices. Stand firm with what you're worth and don't bend over for anybody. You need to believe in yourself, I've been there myself; I actually love telling clients my expensive ass price because I know now who really appreciates good design and who doesn't.

I lost my job so I just shared a video talking about that over 35% of US workforce are freelancers and in 2027, more than 50% of people will be freelancing! This pandemic made us think outside of the box, so why not prepare the future now? 👍

Very useful video. You mentioned Behance as a good place to place mockups and showcase work... is that stronger or better than having your own portfolio and website, or have both? Or, is the futur (lol) having a Behance + IG as a portfolio to show work (as opposed to an actual portfolio)?
