Thanks for making this video!! My boyfriend happens to have this scanner. I have a 2008 Saturn and a check engine light came on for a mass air flow sensor. Just like you said to, I looked up some cheaper possibilities to fix first- i changed out the air filter (the car needed it!) and i changed out the connector (found a broken ground wire!). The engine light didn’t turn off so I finally got a mass air flow sensor and replaced it. I used the scanner to clear the code, and the engine light is finally off and hasn’t turned back on after a little bit of driving. I’m not that great at fixing vehicles but this would have definitely turned into an expensive job ($200 in parts). My boyfriend would’ve fixed it for me too, but I was more than happy to fumble through it myself. Glad I did, i’ll be congratulating myself for the rest of the day 😆

I love this reader. I had a much more expensive one that was a pain to use and interpret. This one is so easy. No problem in having to look up codes. They're in the book or on the internet for the specific autos and trucks.

I have a 2017 Dodge Charger Rallye and I got 2 codes P0128 and P018 pd. I added coolant hoping that would solve my engine light coming on but it didn’t. Would you have any suggestions I do before I change the thermostat? Or is there another way to find out what my problem really is and thank you.

I realize this is an old video, but I'm hoping you can help. I borrowed the Actron CP9125 because my newly purchased (used) 2014 Kia Soul's engine light went on, just 3 wks after having the ECU flashed according to the safety recall. I read the manual and followed instructions for plugging in and powering on the reader. It immediately displayed a code (I guess that's an old/unerased code?). I held down the READ button for 3 secs as the manual instructed. But instead of showing a # of Codes, it cycled through with * (I assume that meant it was reading), then just displayed the same code again. That code is P0420 (which I haven't looked up yet, because I'm confused that the reader didn't work the way the manual said). Any insights would be appreciated.

Two types of cold regular codes which can be erased on pd means for permanent codes which can't be erased untill you resolve the issue

When you scroll down past the codes it will say a lot of other stuff but it will start with either zero or another number and it will say incomplete those are monitors that are incomplete scroll down and it will tell you which each one is that is codes that haven't popped up yet but are in the testing phase scroll down till it says zero or a number ready and it will tell you which monitors / sensors are good to go if it says zero incomplete and then you scroll down and it says whatever number of monitors you have ready then you know your vehicle will pass smog

What does the pd stand for

I have 4 codes that are similar. A P0011 and a P0458. The other two are the same as the codes stated earlier. Can anyone explain what these codes mean?

i know it functions as an emission scanner what abaut other sensors and switches. can they detect them too?i would appreciate a feedback.

P0105 speed scensor I replaced my speed scensor...but it hasn't went away. I haven't fixed the positive wires that connect other than rewiring not the actual part because it had melted the wires and the speed scensor before I realized it was more of an issue as most things are than people made it seem to be...transmission and gears and all these things have been directly effected and I'm trying to get the correct part now...do need help trouble shooting tho

How red the code

I am getting codes, 0420, 0430, 0300, 0302, 0308, and 0340pd ( I dont know what that PD stands for) what would be the common deno on this. I have changed the Camshaft sensor twice, the spark plugs, ignition coil boots, o2 sensors and the CATS.... and this thing is still shaking and puttering... its an 98 BMW 540i.. your advice would be amazing..

What do you mean when the scan say pd? Is it ok? It’s showing P353 and pd P353 will it go away after a while?

Install new part drive the car when the computer see the new part it will turn off the check engine lite by it self if you erase the code the monitor may never complete the cycle if you have check engine lite and your battery goes bad install new battery your code may be erased bucause you unhook the car battery you have a bad sensor all your monitor may not fully reset because the battery went bad if your EGR bad you check code before battery went bad you mite got to install new EGR then all the computer monitor complete the cycle

So I got p030 and p135. So obviously it's something with the O2 sensor but when I turned my car back on, the check engine light didn't come on and the code reader said that I had 0 codes. Should I still fit the problem? Forgot to mention, when It first showed me the codes; it said I had 4 but p030 and p135 showed up twice.

How can you monitor your codes with this reader? I have two codes that keep coming up (Catalyst and Evaporative System). I cant get my car inspected until one of these codes clear. Is there a way I can use this reader to monitor while driving is the codes are clearing?

You can scroll and when I scroll up it says mil on.. But it reads 0 codes??

Mine reads NO CODES. Does that mean that there are no issues?

Hello Thomas,thanks for the video,I have a question,the display shows that there are 2 codes,when I hit "read" once,it shows the first code,when I hit "read" again,it does not show me next code...the display goes to "MIL ON" .

The code show p0012 the mechanics replace it but, the sensor check engine still on. He said don't know why is on

What if you get no codes and says 0 codes

The only reading I get is fail after it scans for about 20 seconds

That was pretty lame and there's a lot more in that little mirror than you said like what is the Inc those are the codes you erased and they slowly get rid of them and then there's ready codes and then other codes like sensors and others there's a lot more on there then you said man flipped through it and look at all the categories

What does the difference between OBD and the one at Walmart which is costing 98$?
