You need to stream via your computer to use an overlay, you'd need to stream via a streaming software like OBS Studio, Streamlabs or Twitch Studio

what can I do if my chat overlay still doesn't show up? I'll ask my friends to send a chat and even tho they do, it doesn't pop up and I know my overlays are on because I can see my viewers and all that but I just can't see chat in game, I can see it in twitch studio on the preview screen and everything but it won't show up in overlay any fix?

OBS isn't as easy, but you can do the same thing in Streamlabs instead :) OBS you need to download a program to make your windows transparent and it's a pain in the butt.

@@longgameplaysessions It should look like this Wii AV -> AV2HDMI Adapter -> Elgato -> USB from Elgato goes to PC USB 3.0 Port & HDMI OUT from Elgato goes to TV (change tv input to whichever hdmi you plugged it into)
