Nice work. I wasn't brave enough to do mine myself, gave them to a shop to set up. Some nice tips on synch etc. Gotta get myself one of those cleaners, I thought you were making a carb casserole !

Zach!!! You amaze me and so well done this video is very informative and is there anything you cannot do??? I have played with carbs before on old cars like one in a 64 Ford Mustang, had one with a 351 Boss engine so got to learn how the carb worked!!! I know it’s not a motorcycle but hey it’s a carb!! Vinegar okay now that’s good to know!

Hi All, I was wondering if someone can help. I have a 1981 CM400A, the bike is great except I am having issues with stalling when I come to a stop sign or traffic light. If I pull the choke out it keeps the bike from stalling but when I accelerate after the stop it bogs down bad, its pretty scary when I have to go through an intersection and I have no speed. The carbs have been cleaned several times and rejetted. Any helpful info would be much appreciated it.

Have you double checked your idle screw? Up your idle adjustment and see if that helps.

Hey, do you rebuild it because its old or to get the air/fuel mixture correct? My cafe racer build with a suzuki GS 650 G is bobbling bad (vacuum carb). Could this be fixed with a rebuild, to non-vacuum carb or some sort?

Rebuild could fix it. Maybe the diaphragms are torn

What is that machine you put it in? Oh...an ultra sonic cleaner...cool...can that be used for anything? Did the manual come with the bike or did you have to find one?

It can be used for pretty much anything! Metal, plastic, rubber, etc. I had to buy the manual :)

Help please! Rebuilt carbs on 82 cm450c. Now gas will flow right through left side overflow😢. Took back apart and floats and needles all seem to be clean and working fine. Dont know what to do from here.

Your floats or float needle valves are likely the culprit. If gas is leaking out of the float bowl it's definitely either the float or float needle valve

PLEASE HELP. I took apart my 1982 Honda CM450E Carb today because the drain was leaking even when I had the drain screw in all the way. The previous owner serviced the carbs which is why they look relatively clean. However, I found two small o rings placed on top of the slow jet needle plastic covers which I don't think belong there as well as a master link that was put on backwards on the chain. My point being I think he didn't exactly know what he was doing 100%. My main question is this: I was cleaning the carb today once it was already fully disassembled and then a small brass piece fell out which I think is the needle jet. Does this model have a needle jet or did the previous owner put it in by accident because the kit possible came with it? I can only find one. Side questions: Could that explain the leak? Are the o rings I found in the carb sitting on the covers not supposed to be there?

There should not be o-rings on the jet needle. It sounds like he was trying to shim it. I'd have to see the brace piece to be sure, but it sounds like the piece that sits in the bottom of the pilot jet hole where the jet needle slides into

@@MotoMango The o rings were on the plastic cover your model doesn't have. But I don't think it should be there because I can't see that on any diagram or video.
