One of the most important elements in being a music maker is vocals and vocal production. There are so many tools and techniques to make vocals pop and capture the vision of the artist.
And at the same time vocals can be one of the most frustrating things to record as you are getting started in producing. When it comes to getting the “best” vocal sound there are many methods, but one thing is constant for every production and that is importance of capturing a clean vocal.
In this video I wanted to go through the simple process of how I record clean vocals with no distortion or clipping. A majority of the artists I produce for are remote and in many cases are doing their own vocal tracking. I always say, I can fix anything in production, from tuning, timing and almost anything, except clipping or overdriving.
