I followed the instructions and reset the password on my other device. Yet when I try to decrypt on my current device it still says invalid password??

Was not YET locked out, but forgot my backup key and skipping reminders to not rock the boat: 1:43 was what I needed! If you are still logged into Authy and have just forgotten the backup (and keep skipping it), you don't need multi-device. As long as at least ONE account is logged in (ie your phone) you can go to settings and change "Backup Key" to whatever you want - WITHOUT KNOWING YOUR ORIGINAL KEY! If you are trying to remember the process you used, it wants at least: 1 capital, 1 small letter, 1 number and 1 symbol - typical with most passwords, but having the requirements helps jog my memory so that may also help you. I was convinced that trying to change the key would lock me out since it might ask for my original, which would be a potential disaster. THANK YOU for a useful video! I did not try entering the wrong password to the reminder, as I was afraid it would lock me out and prevent me from logging in, using it. or changing my backup key. If anyone knows what happens when you enter the wrong key once into the reminder - does it lock you out from then on until entered correctly? How many tries do you have to get it right? I'd love to know.

Hi. I need a help. I have 2 devices. I have changed my backup password on my old device, however, whenever I enter that backup password on my new device it says "wrong password" and it does not decrypt my apps? Any reason for that?

So I have my old phone with Authy. I for some reason didnt save/ write my back up password anywhere. In settings then accounts it says backup key not backup password. I still changed it and noted it down. I use it on my new phone and it still dosnt work. I have 3 accounts I cant get tokens for on my new phone

hey what is up big fam?... my problem is a bit different from the problem you addressed.. I still have my backup password but i changed phones and now i can't get past the number verification stage...it does not send a code rather says "phone verification failed" and the phone call option ain't helping either.. Support is not really helping ever accounted this good sir??

Is this why Authy has "allow multi-device" set by default now? Maybe there have been numerous cases about this and they decided to enable it by default. Hello. I have an issue I can't seem to find anyone else struggling with. Maybe you know something I don't? So I have anew phone. I have downloaded and authenticated authy to the new phone (not a new number). Enabled backups, I have the password. Everything is encrypted, but when I enter my password to decrypt I just get "incorrect password" from the new phone. I have tried changing the backup password on the old phone, restarting the phones, etc, without luck. So I can see all the accounts on the new phone, I just can't decrypt them. Any idea how I should move forward with this? I'll probably contact authy in a few days if I haven't figured it out.

Have you heard of the situation when authy is installed on the new phone and suddendly the accounts are encrypted while those on the old phone are still not encrypted as the way they have been? This just happened to me. The only thing I did after dowloading authy onto my new phone was to go to its setting, security, and activated App Protection. However, I after I turned off App Protection (because I thought this might have created the issue), authy for my accounts are still encrypted. Please help. Do you know how to solve this issue?

I had autthy put up on discord, removed the authentications from authy, but forgot to do it on discord. I only noticed now, when I got logged out and discord told me to authenticate, which I can’t do since the authentication on authy is removed. Is it anyhow possible to restore my account? I got all of the passwords and data, except for the authentication

Hi. I changed my phone and had no issues getting Authy set back up initally. But now I also changed my phone number and while the account is still linked to the previous number I cannot change this to my current one. The app is not sending the verification message to my new number and I no longer have access to the previous one. What other option is there for me? :(

authy lets me type my backup password upon opening the app. but when I try to decrypt my other account token with the red lock icon in it asking for my backup password, it keeps saying my backup password is incorrect. How can I fix this?
