I'm telling all of you. Get an ice cube tray that makes ice small enough to fit through the nozzle of that thing. Measure out how many pieces of that ice you need for the recipe. Put the ice in instead of water, and you have all the time in the world to seal it up with absolutely no loss. I get an extra week at least of CO2 using this method and it's much easier to do.

That's not a bad method but it's only effective if you have the whole day to spare while you wait for it to melt. Not so good if you need your tank ready to go straight away. Try out this method for refilling your tank, mate. It will add a good 10% more life to each refill. I used a jar so that I can show what it looks like inside, it's even easier with a tank. Put the bicarb in first, then cover it with citric acid. This will give you more time before it soaks through to bicarb (which is the one that starts reacting to water). You still need to have your valve ready but you'll hardly lose any pressure if you're quick. Also remember not to screw the valve. Hold the valve and screw the tank instead if you want to get it done quicker. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i7OVfsmUlrHRp3U.html

Nice to get a review of this product after some use. I’ve only used the normal co2 method and never looked back. 🌿

@@aquamate was wondering, I'm learning and designing a greenhouse considering growing fish for food. 2 questions. Would love to grow crappy, salmon, catfish. Idk. Would love to learn how? What resources would you recommend for learning specifics? Can you help? Once up and running I'll pay for consulting. 2nd. What what that off on switch for auto closing of the gas on a timer? Need CO2 for greenhouse and making my own. Thanks for the vid!!!

I've had mine here in the UK a few months now (FZone model) and it's really great. I have found after much trial and error that if you chill the cylinder in the fridge and use ice cold water to fill, you get hardly any loss of gas. It may take 12 to 24hrs to full pressure but I easily get 5 weeks at 2 bps. Nice video btw thanks for sharing.

Adding the water and freezing is a common recommendation I'm getting, I like it but I'm not getting enough time out of it, so I think it's ideal for smaller tanks, thanks for thr comment and watching too

Welcome Arlow (hope correct 🤔) Thanks for the informative video Josh. I‘d say keep the Bioscape Co2 generator for the smaller tanks. For your 4ft, you’ll need a conventional CO2 regulator and bottle. With bigger volume tanks you’ll need to saturate the CO2 in water ie. desolve the CO2 with a CO2 reactor that is linked to your canister filter. Aquamedic and Sera have the better ones, however, you can also make your own Cerges reactor. The other option is an inline diffuser, hands down wins over any in tank diffuser. I can highly recommend CO2art‘s inline diffuser and regulators. Just touching on your algae issues, most planted tanks as seen on George Farmer, Green Aqua, ADA, etc. are fairly densely planted tanks, so quite a few plants and high biomass. When they use CO2, it is consistently used, so not on this week and then off the next, but all the time. It is very important to keep the CO2 constant, because you need a stable, balanced supply. If it becomes unbalanced, the plants suffer and the algae starts its reign. Many algae issues start because of this, namely hair or thread algae and BBA are typical and a real pain in the arse. Also, light intensity can cause and make worse these algae problems, so turn down the intensity a little or reduce the hours of your photo period. Regarding good light fittings, I can recommend that if you’re after lush plant growth and awesome colours on your Rotala, etc. that you invest in a light such as Twinstar S II, Chihiros WRGB II, AI Prime Freshwater or Kessil A360X Tunasun. Chihiros and AI Prime would be the more affordable ones here. Don’t waste your money on any others. Hope this helps.

I've been experiencing with stem plant only tanks for a couple of months. I found that you need to start with a really good substrate, then root tabs, then course sand. Plant your stems and give them a week or 2 to establish roots under a medium light before adding CO2 & ferts or they will melt. Once that is going well you can just turn up your light & plant more & they will grow well. My CO2 setups with traditional canisters were $400 & $500 each & refills are $45 every 3 - 4 months so will definitely give the BioScape one a go. I have several of their 9 & 10W LED lights & they are fantastic for smaller tanks.

@aquamate
@aquamate 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarith, I would expect this tank which is 1.25 litres I think (I'm not home atm) would last maybe three weeks on a tank that size, it all depends on how many bubbles per second you run

Over time by watching all these video you have to play with many different portions first I started with the sugar and yeast it didn’t work out made a nest of my tank with the slimy stuff in Tyne tank the by product of the yeast I had to do many water changes to get rid of the stuff over time I have learnt that reviewers don’t tell you all the pros and cons I am now experimenting with the baking soda and citric a acide my next attempt will be to mix the citric acide with the baking soda now I am going to mix them together and not in separate bottles

No only around 8 hours a day, plants only take in co2 when they photosynthesise, and they only do that when the lights are on

Why does it need power
@aquamate
@aquamate 2 жыл бұрын
the power is so you can stop the co2 process and start it, the best idea is to put it on a timer with your lights so they work together and you dont gas your fish, thanks for the question

I dont understand why you dont just put dry ice in it. Stuffs dirt cheap in the states, its pure co2 thus voids all the mess.
