How to rehydrate Orchids fast! - Orchid Care Quick Tips

Orchids don't need anything other than water to rehydrate, provided they have roots. Make sure to adjust your watering schedule appropriately and water whenever your orchid is dry!

I found $2 phals at my local store . There was about 15 of them at $2 each ! All they needed was water and a good soaking !!!!! 🎉

What I did with my very dehydrated phal. I soaked it at night(all night) and let it dry during the day. It worked very well for me.

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I have one orchid that is doing really well, but the other is dry. I love that you said to water as needed, not once a week. I'm trying your rehydration strategy to see if it helps. Many thanks.

I soak all of my orchids every other day. In FL, they dry out quickly. No dehydration problems here. Plump leaves and healthy! 😍🕊🦋🌸

I struggle with this during the summer. I find it really hard getting the hydration back. The rest of the year they look amazing.

Yup, works really well, I've even left them soaking for an hour or two if very dry (usually if I've been away on holiday with no one to water them). I make sure to drain the pot really well after soalking so there is no water left in the bottom of the decorative pot and they're absolutely fine. Also I prep before going on hols by doing a really good soalk before I go.

Great video, maybe one day I will have this issue and I will know where to go. I like to over care for mine and kill them with love. LOL switching to self-watering pots is a lifesaver for my beauties. Now I have new leaves and roots galore.

Regarding John Gardiner's comment... She isn't saying it wrong, you're hearing it wrong. Danni speaks beautiful English. She certainly pronounces water correctly. I've watched dozens of her videos, and believe me I'd notice. My mother was insistent that we children were articulate.

I just bought a plant and it looks like there are 2 orchids in the pot. One of them looks dehydrated, but the other looks okay. How do I rehydrate one of them without overwatering the other one? They are also both just starting to bloom so I am not sure if I can split them into separate pots or repot them together?

Hi! I'm new to this channel and to growing orchards. I recently got two plants..so far so good!! But, I do have a question about when to re pot my new plants. I was told not to re pot until they stop blooming. Is that correct? And I also noticed the roots that are on the outside of the pot, the tips are turning brown. Am I over watering or not watering enough? Thanks!

No ice cubes, warm water, let it sit in it for about 10 minutes and let it drain well.

Personally I wouldn't - if the orchids aren't all really healthy then you can pass viruses and pests between them. You could however put the plants inside their decorative pots all in the bath and fill them individually. That's what I do. Or you could water them in groups together so that if something is passed between orchids, you only loose a small portion of your orchids and not the whole collection. That's what I do sometimes... I make sure to always group them in the same way though because a problem with an orchid can take several months to become apparent. So basically, water in small groups, not all together.

Probably a stupid question but; how do you know when your orchid is dry?

With a phalaenopsis the roots will be silvery and then green up when hydrated. Leaves will become limp and leathery if too dry. You can also tell by how heavy or light the overall pot feels.
