If people had to pay 6 months of rent in advance in USA, no one would not be able to get an apartment. What they are doing in Africa is silly. Here, you pay 1st month, last month, and a deposit worth half month. If you don't want to pay a lot of money upfront, it's better to buy a house where you are not required to put any money down.

Mostly it's because of security reasons that make they do that also you can negotiate if you can't afford it Again there are not enough houses to accommodate people moving to this city that's why we are advising people who can invest to come back home

La Côte d’Ivoire is also proper French, you just don’t have to say the pronouns la all the time. But it remains to be your choice.
