For everybody else in the world who doesn’t have time to stop what they’re doing and go buy this device just drill right up against the broken bit on both left and right side to make room for the needle nose pliers and stick those in there get a good grip on the drill bit and yank it out! That’s what I just did and save myself a ton of time and money and effort.

Just want to say thanks for the video. I just broke off a small bit while drilling screw holes. I don't have time to order the tool you mentioned; but, you gave me an idea. I plan to use a smaller bit to drill around the broke bit until I can extract it with needle nose pliers. Then, using your idea, I'll drill a larger hole and fill it with a dowel. Thanks again.

Why is my drill bit getting stuck in wood in the first place? And why does my drill loosen when I try to get the drill but out? My drill seems to do it kind of often

Does Ur drill use a keyed Chuck or a keyless chuck I find my keyed Chuck tends to do that more than the keyless one

What is that tool called that you used. I'm in Australia and have only seen the extractors that are supposed to drill into the stuck bit - my problem is that the bit is very small 3mm or less for a pilot hole for a 7 gauge screw. The wood is age old well seasoned hard wood and like rock and I've broken off two bits and a screw in 3 holes. They are for hinges so I really need to use the same locations. Your explanation was really clear and looks very much like what I need. Any ideas?

Cant do that. Dont want the hole larger or add a plug. Wont look right. Maybe do it from the back side if the area will be covered up.

I have a feeling this wont work very well with the 5/32 bit the broke off while drilling through a 1x4 and 4x4......

You read my mind. I'm thinking we made the exact same boo-boo. Were you mounting a face-vise in a hurry and thought you'd save some time by bungling a simple pilot hole? Cuz tha's what I did.
