Great video as always, I usually put a board piece of a pallet on the weather strip so the dolly goes out smoother and not have to give it a push when stuck, hope my simple tip helps someone haha

2 suggestion when doing this. Put a moving blanket/blankets on the wood floor. Protects the customers floor and is easier to move/slide couch to the door. No need for a dolly until you get it outside. If you use a dolly, there are more chances of scratching the floor.

Your very careful and detailed video has just convinced me that we need a sofa that is shorter than the height of the door frame, as the two doors are at close rightangles to each other and both only have a less than one metre wide landing and hallway either side of front door. So many nice sofas that won't fit...

I noticed it too while editing and forgot to adjust it, its because I was recording from across the room for majority of clips + having the door open didn't help. Sorry!

Is it possible to use a saw and dry vac if the customer is good for it and cut it in half? Spit balling before I start my own LLC. Thanks for all the videos. SFF

I suppose you could, I know people who don't even attempt couches and cut them right in half or thirds. I personally just always saw it as overkill unless you're in a situation where maybe its a multiple story home and the movers had to hoist it through a balcony door because it wouldn't fit in staircase no matter what...in which case of course you wouldn't be able to do solo or even safely without experience.. but that's just my opinion. I've never had a couch I couldn't get out, I can make a 15 min video about moving it but in reality its a 30 second process. I wonder how I would feel as a customer watching my sofa get cut in half in my living room that wasn't an issue to have brought in. But I may be overthinking it :) And thanks! Good luck! I once had a sectional that movers moved into a corner 1950’s era apartment where the doors were very close together and the extended coat closet was 3 ft from the door. We sold the couch but it took 3 people an hr moving it by angles and forcing it past the door. It was a mess haha Salt Lake City area

@@silverfoxfinance Its a common thing in moving, can't begin to talk about how many pieces we had to move that were placed in a room/apt prior to a renovation being done, to where now the elevators are smaller or the staircase was redone, etc. Nightmares

@@clutterreductionjunkremoval haha yeah that would make things interesting. Got any advice for a hauling company that will have to operate with winter weather 5 months of the year? I know you’re in FL but I thought I would still ask in case you had thoughts. Thanks

@@silverfoxfinance I actually don't, no experience dealing with winter. Something I've noticed with those who do deal with it, is to increase the types of services you offer around those times. Whether its tree trimming (maybe double up by doing firewood selling), snow shoveling for driveways, etc.. Technically side jobs but can market your JR business to those who use you. Make sure with your location, that doing any side work is legal first. But that would be my first step.
